Today Capcom announced that Devil May Cry is one of its major titles. Now given how much the game Devil May Cry 5 has earned them that isn’t a surprise. But what does this mean for the franchise now that Capcom is holding it in as regards as the series dearest fans?
Well for one it means we will see more of it. Being compare to Resident Evil you must remember there are a lot of games under that banner as well as version of those games. Something that DMC fans are hoping happens with Devil May Cry 5.
Not to rant but this could be a nice sign that a special edition maybe being planned. And that isn’t too far out of the question. This is Capcom and they are known for getting some good mileage out of a game. To give you an idea of this they are still making version of Street Fighter 2.
Now that is not the only implication here as when it is this big it means we might see DMC characters in other genres or other versions of the game. Many are wishing for Devil May Cry 2 remake but that isn’t happening at the moment. Or at least we don’t think it is as Itsuno has said no to it. But the article also said that they will be having the young staff develop the game. Now that can concern some people as DMC biggest hits have come from Itsuno at the helm. DMC 3-5 is Itsuno and those are the one we think about when it comes to the series minus 1. 1 was Hideki of Platinum before he left Capcom.
Now this might worry people on whether the franchise will be in good hands. First these aren’t just any body. I used Matt Walker as an example in the original post on this to give you and idea that the people the article is mentioning are fans of Capcom games. Meaning that fans who love the industry, that love the series will be working on it much like Matt. But does that mean it will be a master piece? No as even though people work hard as they can things can still go wrong. What that means is that they will give it there all hopefully pushing the series forward in a way that fans enjoy.
Now as for going forward fans are throwing out many ideas from a redemption arc for Vergil which could be a thing. V expressed a lot of guilt for what Vergil has done and fans to want to play as the Sparda brother who emphasizes samurai style. We also have an idea of the next game being a father and son bonding. We will have to see what comes next for if Capcom does do a special edition you can bet it will add more to the story. DMC 4SE add a scene were we see Vergil meeting a woman who many think is Nero mother. With this game being the most story heavy out of the series you can beat we will see some new things come out of it.
But those are my thoughts let me know what you think about Capcom holding Devil May Cry in such high praise.
