Gundam is legendary for its mech battles and story telling as we get the over sense of war time through certain character and they make as well as brake. But Creator Yoshiuki Tomino want more sex to be in the story. Now to be clear want to see it go further than the normal hand on male crouch and call it a day.
“I see them as my rivals. From my generation’s perspective, you don’t have to go out of your way to make an anime that feels like an introspective novel about a boy and a girl who are always stretching out their hands towards each other.
However, “the boy’s hand never reaches the girl’s crotch. Why do they never go any further? I want him to make a story where they aren’t just satisfied with no physicality. Well, Shinkai is still a young director, so I suppose he can make films like that,” Tomino
To some this might be much but I would like to point out there have been sex hinted at in Gundam stories in the past such as Destiny. But that was a few flash of humans touching nothing more. But also this is the creator perspective. He might have come up with the material but how the studio shows is it is up to them. Will it happen? We will see as more Gundam animes are coming out.
