Guilty Gear 2020 had a stream last night that showed off the game as it is for the demo that will be at Arc Rev 2019. There are things to take note. This is a beta version of the game so things may change. The game is not as combo heavy which works. With Guilty Gear past you could go crazy with combos but because of scaling. Most games have scaling but with Guilty Gear the scaling gets to where you will hit the enemy and it will do nothing until you stop and start a new combo.
We also learned there will be English dub for the game. This was first done in Guilty Gear Overture and Guilty Gear Xrd Sign and not in revelators. As to who will be joining the cast it is unknown as the demon was in Japanese with English subtitled. But the theme song that is in our heads since the first trailer will be on spoitfy so you can go check that out.
There will also be a closed Beta. The beta code will be given to those who go to the event. But other might get by other means. I say that as that is what mostly happens with these things. As for actual gameplay I said the combos a short but they are beefy. Sol hit Ky for a four hit combo and it did a nice chunk of damage. Also just because the combos are short doesn’t meant you limited with them. The devs had Ky go for a 10 hit combo on Sol before knocking him into the next arena. Roman cancel is the same as well as burst.
As for the characters the design comes to life as you see them in action. From there movement to impact such as when Ky projectiles are blocked and a magic symbol appears each time. The Text pops out similar to Borderlands. As for moves we have a few news ones here and there mixed in with new animations such as Sol Bandit Revolver and Bandit Bringer with bringer being able to be done in the air. I will post both Japanese and English videos so you can them go over it.
The one thing you might noticed is missing is Sol Dragon Install. Neither side of the stream touched on it. Nothing to worry about as we didn’t see install until later on. We also didn’t see instant kills so that is something to look forward to. Again check out the videos below to make sure you get everything as well as what is said at the end as they did do a Q&A but I noticed that for those who say the Japanese side of the stream the English audio was a bit off. Also they break down the game differently as I didn’t see anyone in the US stream use sacred edge while the JP did.
