Guilty Gear 2020 stream is out there if you haven’t seen it yet I will post the it below but with it being out I decided to give you my reaction. Now from what we saw this seemed as though they were holding back. I compare this as compared to other games in the series. And I am not alone as other feel the same way.
Now this can be simply because we need to get used to them. The stream was the first time players got there hand on the build so they were figuring out as we went along. As such they didn’t now what crazy things they can do. Another reason is those things may not be in the game yet. We didn’t see dragon install or instant kills so maybe the things that will make over the top have not been implemented into the game.
This can also be to welcome new comers. Games are always trying to expand there audiences through guest character and gameplay. Through gameplay they want to show an easy game to pick and play. Thus why we don’t have as many cancels as we did in XRd. Now this doesn’t always bod well as most of the time when that happens you limit what fans have come to love if not remove it as in some cases. As to whether that is the case we will have to see when more players get there hand on the demo and see what they can do.
What I hope is that if this a simple version that it shows the developers are planning ex versions. These versions are different to the point they make there characters broken. Not completely as there gold versions but close (especially when you add the force break from the accent core but it isn’t this one). I hope that is the case fans have been wanting to get the different edits of characters in since GG was brought back with Xrd.
You can ask for it as the developers are listening. (Just a reminder that you need to remember your manners or you email will get tossed.) And as such I hope they hear us on this. But also we need to see more of the game as we still didn’t get all the details. There were buffs and debuffs with Sol and Ky fight that were not explained that I hope will get touched on next time.
