Mortal Kombat XI newest character Sindel is still some time away. But some people got to play her and thus we have the ending and fans are not to pleased with how Nether realm decided to portray her.
It is not hard to see why as in XI we have Sindel turning the story upside down. In Sindel ending we see the she killed Jarred aka Kitana father as Shao Kahn wanting a more powerful lover that she can rule the realms through. We might say she is under Shang Tsung influence but in her ending she just takes over everything, Kronika, Shao Kahn, Kitana everything. Basically Nether Realm shows she is darker than we think.
The problem with this we have been believing that Sindel was beloved and kind woman that when resurrected was influenced by dark magic. Now this changes all that and before we say this is a what if ending Sindel also mentions this in her intros. She comments on Kitana sharing her weakness with her father and that she killed him in another. Meaning this is cannon. Something that people aren’t to happy with.
I had hopes for the Sindel’s tower ending, but even that was ruined.

what was with Sindel’s ending??? First they said Shao Kahn killed Jerrod, then in Kitana’s trailer D’Vorah said she did it, now in Sindel’s ending Sindel did it!! WTF???

You know if Sindel’s ending was her using the hourglass to restore Edenia and make sure shao kahn and Quan chi were dead as fuck and cant corrupt her or anyone else, id be ok with her Evil intros…..

Does it really matter if #Sindel‘s ending reveals this retcon is all a ruse? Her intros still use this persona and will paint her public perception for years. That happened with the last two games: only showing her under mind control led many newcomers to think she was just evil.

Now this is the story now but remember that with the story mode everything is getting rebooted again so how long this will remain cannon is something we need to see. Especially given Kitana is helping Liu Kang with the forming a new timeline.
