Fire Force Ep 18 The Secrets Pyrokinesis is out and we will be breaking it down. As such there will be spoilers and as such if you don’t want to be spoiled stop now. AGIAN SPOILERS AHEAD.
The episode starts with companies, 7,1 and 5 meeting at the 8th fire house to compare notes. This isn’t for the viewer but for character lore to explain how they know things. Remember the force doesn’t report to one person so at the moment we know these people are the only companies in contact with each other. Also they have little things to share such Giovanni being with white clade and taking most of company 3 with him. Hibana says that Hajime isn’t with the white clade but not to certain. But now the focus is on facing the white clad.
Even thought they don’t know how many of the people are actually aligned with the white clad Obi and the others think it is best to find there base and hit them hard. The one problem is that the 8th isn’t strong enough. Something everyone aggress with. Joker says the same thing to Viktor and brings a terrifying fact that Sho might be link to the Evanglist giving him tremendous power. With that in mind a training session is in order. And since there is only one person known for combat in the fire force Konkaro decides to bring them back with him to Benimaru. (Although why only Arthur and Shinra is odd since Tamaki could probably use the training too?) The truth being Shinra the main he need to get stronger Arthur being his rival then is an automatic. (Anime logic for rivals to train together.)
Now the training has both Arthur and Shinra gaging with Benimaru and he handles them with ease. This isn’t there first sparing match as you can imagine Arthur and Shinra go at it every time they get. But with this they are facing someone who is properly trained in combat against people. But with Viktor coming we get training to help both of them. Arthur gets taught proper swordsmen ship instead of needlessly swinging his sword and Shinra learns how to channel his flame.
Now while Shinra and Arthur are getting training the other are getting more toys from Vulcan. Obi gets new equipment which is good as so far he has protection from fires but that won’t be enough to go against the white clad. Maki gets new equipment in hammers that she can control with her flames. She is the witch of the group so it is better for her to learn a new spell or get equipment. Plus she is incredible strong anyway.
Besides Viktor getting threatened for the 2nd time. (Because no one trust the guy and you can’t blame them giving he is working with Joker.) We see Benimaru explain to Shinra hand signs which help him learn how to control the energy he is putting out which is what both him and Arthur are learning. Both of them have great power but with the way they use it they waste a good amount of it burning themselves out quicker. With this training we see them control it more and gain more strength through it. Now Shinra gets a finishing move (which this is an anime you know he was going to get something.) But he needs to work on the name. Mainly because Benimaru doesn’t like it.
But despite not having a name hopefully this much strength give Shinra the boost he needs to take on Sho. The strength he needs to keep the promise he made to his mother and get his brother back. But that is something for another time.
