Fire Force Ep 19 Into The Nether is out and we will be going over it. Since this is a breakdown there will be spoilers so if you don’t want to be spoiled stop now and wait till it is shown on Toonami. If you can’t wait go check it out at Funimation or Crunchyroll. AGIAN SPOILERS AHEAD.
So we start with a flash back as Shinra remember his childhood. With Sho still a baby we have his mother trying to get the kid to clean up. She does so by mentioning that bad kids go to the nether a bad place similar to hell. Shinra starts cleaning and that is when we learn in present day that is where the evangelist are as Viktor samples come from the Nether aka Tokyo Subway system that has been closed off all this time.
Company 8 is going to hit it and thus they prepare. As they sleep Shinra has dreams of Iris surrounded by flames. Does this mean anything yes as it is an anime and we have the main character seeing it. But what as we see Shinra seeing Iris through the adola link. This is on his mind as the company goes to the entrance to the subway system.
Now lets talk about the Nether. We are talking about underworld which is a little interesting as through out history humanity associated the caves and such as portals to the underworld. The reason this comes to interest here is because Company 8 is a little hestiatn about going forward. Hinawa, Victor and Vulcan seem to be the only ones who don’t care ware as Arthur my not even notice it. The other aren’t inching there way in.
Now notice I say Company 8. The church only granted them access to go in. Keep in mind this is a war and that if you know where the enemy is the other side usually brings the fight to them. However there number are taken care of very easy thanks to Shimmer and Yona using there abilities to separate them. This makes sense for the most part until you hear Yona trying to impersonate Tamaki.
I saw work as you can clearly hear the difference but for some reason Iris can’t and it isn’t until Tamaki lucky lore kicks in that she sees which is real. But with this we jump to Maki who is scared being alone in what basically seen to the empire as hell. That is until the enemy shows up. Flail brings a nice squad but they are facing Maki.
What that means in layman’s terms is that she just goes through them easily. Especially with her new toy curtesy of Vulcan. This leaves Flail showing us he can manipulate the size of his mace. Now this is an issue until he makes one wrong move. He brings the sensitive issue of Maki and her being a brute. As we all that means he has to go down now.
This has seeing what Iris and Tamaki are dealing with and that is Assault. Assault is a third generation who can conjure flames into the shapes cannon rounds. The impact is powerful but Tamaki refuses to go down. Remember Tamaki hasn’t really shown to hold her own yet. For the most part the girl has been embarrassed. This is her moment to show she has it. She has the right to be a fire soldier.
Now this works as Tamaki puts it up well but basically it is thanks to her lore that she gets in. The problem is this goes from a moment to which the cat lady could shin to Iris and Tamaki beat the living life out of someone.
Now we have seen the ladies getting along we can only guess as to what await the guys. But for that we will have to see what happens next time.
