We have more new v skills for Street Fighter V Champion Edition. Alex, Blanka and Kage new moves are on display with Blanka getting a new ground shock. Alex gets a new stance which allows him to chain special together and Kage according to video gets a summersault to avoid attacks before coming down with one of his own.
Keep in mind these are quick views of the V skills we still need to see more of them to know what they do. Alex can chain special but couldn’t help but notice he has to ex the last one to work. Kage to me looks like a jump back into superman punch more than a summersault. But you can see it below to judge for yourself.
“First off, we have the aforementioned Shout of Earth which will allow Blanka to send a burst of electricity into the ground which can juggle the opponent up in the air, opening them up for a punishing follow-up.
On the surface, Shout of Earth looks similar to Necalli’s ground pounding V-Skill though the description says Blanka will need to store up his electrical energy before discharging. We’ll need to see whether he can store / cancel a charge of it or if he’ll need to perform that long animation every time to use it.
Alex gets a new stance power up with Overchain where he’ll strike a pose which will then allow him to chain together two special moves. We see in the footage the brawler landing a Flash Chop before cancelling it into EX Air Knee Smash.
Having new ways to cancel into knee smash is good for Alex to have some extra Oki pressure, but there’s still a lot we don’t know from this brief glimpse of gameplay.
Will Alex only be able to cancel into EX specials? Can he combo into or out of stomp or headbutt? Does the charge go away if he’s hit? We’ll probably find out more later this week from Capcom themselves.
For Mr. Evil-er Ryu himself, Kage’s V-Skill 2 is called Sekieiken. This powerful-looking somersault allows Kage to catch the opponent off-guard from above to sneak past fireballs and untrue block strings.
Kage’s new slamming attack is shown in its powered-up state in the trailer which happens when it is used while V-Trigger 1 is active. We don’t know what it will look like normally, but it probably won’t be quite as threatening as that big explosion”
