Fire Force ep 22 is out and as such we will be going over it. With this being a breakdown there will be spoilers. If you do not what to be spoiled stop now and go see the episode on Crunchyroll.com or Funimation. If not you can wait until it airs on Toonami where I will let you know when it comes on. AGIAN SPOILERS AHEAD.
We start with Yona as he is somehow talking with someone. We don’t know who it is as it could be the evangelist but with hoe he ends his sentence with in the will of the evangelist that doesn’t appear to be the case. We also see his shadow not looking anything like the human figure in front. Meaning that there maybe more to him then we believe. But that conversation ends quickly as we are introduced to Haumea who posses an adolla burst. Her appearance comes as we learn that there is more to this brotherly reunion then we think.
But as we go back to the fight we see that Sho has introduced Shinra to other world. He is doing this through his Adolla link meaning he is projecting this to him and he is not really there. But the point here is Sho explains that this is where the Adolla burst comes from. The flame that destroyed the world and saved it comes from this place. Which is a lot to handle especially since he says that another words for this place is hell. With this we see the appearance of the evangelist. We do see him for very long but then again this was all a point to Shinra. The point being that he is out classed in power.
Remember this high speed versus time manipulation. No matter how fast Shinra goes he will be at the mercy of Sho time freeze. Which we see as Sho just keeps appearing around Shinra in teleporting fasion. Shinra takes it with only the fact Sho won’t call him big brother as the only issue. So Shinra sees this as tag. You have to remember that Shinra even though Sho is causing him some serious pain still sees him as his little brother he never got to know. Sho doesn’t see that at all only to get surprised hit by Shinra.
Shinra forced an adola link with Sho and he thinks he can use it to tap into the evangelist power and use it, This is not an easy feet. Keep in mind Shinra has only been on the receiving end of this and has never tried to perform it on others. Now with his brother in front him and no other way to take him down he has to figure it out. But Sho is his motivation and as such Shinra decides to give it everything he has. To go as fast as he can to catch up to Sho and thus he vanishes.
Now we know he disappears in a sense as once Sho freezes time he cannot be found. Once Sho lets time return to normal we see Shinra crashed in to one of the columns. Now this is where it is a good thing that Viktor was chosen to be with Shinra. Most of the time the crowd watching a fight in anime conveys to the reader what is happening. Viktor does the same thing and realizes that Shinra must be going faster than the speed of light. But since the human body wasn’t meant to go that fast he thinks that Shinra is broken down at a subatomic level and then reconstructed due to time reverse after he comes back from that speed.
But that is only one of the few things revealed here. We are brought to company 1 as they feel the after shocks from the fighting. We are brought as Company 1 discuss things seeing as they replaced Rekka with one of the older member and that Burns seems to be still hiding things. This comes from him stating that he didn’t want Shinra to find his way here.
But we are soon brought back to the fight as Sho tries to grasp as to how Shinra is able to move so fast. This is as Viktor goes over what I just explained as well as the fact that if Shinra isn’t careful he could pull Tokyo into a black whole.
At this point we see Shinra show Sho that he is getting stronger as he is linking himself to Sho and thus Evanglist. But while this is a shock to Sho it seems it is expected. Yona and Haumea have come to see the fight. With this we learn that they want a new generation to come from this family brawl. A forth generation through Shinra. But this is only the light stuff as Shinra and Sho are even and thus it is a fight now.
Interesting enough Yona says something about him not being human which might go back to Arthur saying he doesn’t look like one. With the shadow from earlier we also see hints that there is more to this guy then we see. But that is something we will have to look at later. For now it is all about the brothers.
Now Shinra can fight against Sho but there is a catch here. Remember Sho is breaking his body at light speed and then rebuilding it to catch up to Sho while Sho just stops time. Both are ways of achieving incredible speed but Shinra is more costly and with the blows he receiving before this fight has taken its toll on him.
The thing is though Sho is in front of him. The brother he thought he had lost is now in front of him. With that in his mind Sho has in mind a promise he must keep to his mother. A promise that he will bring Sho back with him. But as to whether or not that happens is something we will have to see in the next episode.
