The announcement of Studio Wild Rose gave fans hope in Machida spiritual successor to Shadow Hearts being a thing. Now while I know it will take time I hope we get to see an announcement of what that title would and will be.
Fans were hyped when Machida talked about wanting to maybe return to the Shadow Hearts universe but with his studio and promises of a spiritual successor in the future fans can’t wait to see what comes out of this. If you have been following me you know Machida isn’t just joking with us. Time and time again he celebrates the game franchise he started with anniversary pictures and actively talks to the fan base at his twit account.
He still talks to fans through the website and twitter. Today he posted a poem as we go into next year. You can read the original and translated below.

“The year of the year is about to end in 201Reiwa9.
Looking back, it was a year full of memories.
With the support of the voices of those who have been friends, those who have met new, and those who have been able to get to know each other, Machida and Kato have been pushed forward.
Although I started the company in March, it was a studio Wild Rose like a small boat that is at the mercy of rough seas with only unexpected things, but I switched to the idea that if I dive into the sea as far as a submarine, I would be able to enjoy the scenery in the sea if I had to worry about sinking. I left it to the flow of nature without going against fate poorly and continued the voyage.
Then, the sea is full of beautiful scenery which I see for the first time.
Of course, the view was not really wide, but the world that changed my perspective was beautiful, and by interacting with new people, I was able to experience new values at work, company, and, in turn, in all of my life.
You might think that it is said that it is a religion when writing like this, but it is not so. (laughs)
I was impressed by the heat of people who run small and medium-sized enterprises that are not in large companies.
Our studio Wild Rose will also work with a passion for not being defeated by everyone.
In terms of the game, the Gotamazeeyer released this year was a grateful title that I was able to credit the producer’s line after a long time. Unfortunately, it was not a smash hit, but there are many cute characters that have not appeared yet, so I hope that they will be released sequentially.

ふり返れば思い出いっぱいの一年でした。
これまでお付き合いのある方、新しく知り合うことができた方、みなさんの声に支えられて町田と加藤ともなかは突き進んで来られました。
3月に会社を立ち上げたものの、そりゃあもう予想外のことばかりで荒波に翻弄される小舟のようなスタジオワイルドローズでしたが、沈む心配をするぐらいならいっそ潜水艦になって海に潜れば海中の景色も楽しめるだろうって考えに切換え、下手に運命に逆らわず自然の流れに任せて航海を続けて来ました。
そうしたら、海中は初めて見る美しい景色でいっぱい。
もちろん本当に絶景が広がっていたわけではありませんが、見方を変えた世界は美しく、新しく知り合えた方々と交誼を重ねて行くことで、仕事や会社、ひいては人生のすべてにおいて新しい価値観に触れることができました。
こう書くと宗教みたいなこと言ってるって思うかも知れませんが、そんなんじゃありませんよ。(笑)
大企業には無い中小企業を経営する方々の熱さに感動したって話ですから。
我がスタジオワイルドローズも、みなさんに負けないよう熱い想いを胸に仕事に邁進して行きます。
ゲームで言えば、今年リリースされたゴッタマゼイヤーは久しぶりに製作者の列にクレジットしていただけた有り難いタイトルでした。残念ながらスマッシュヒットにはなりませんでしたが、まだ登場していない可愛いキャラもいっぱいいますので、順次公開されて行ってもらえたらなと期待しています。

Now we are going on spiritual successor as for what I understand Machida doesn’t have the rights. That is Universal Entertainment but at the same time that might change and fans would be thrilled to see the return to Shadow Hearts and love it. Keep in mind this would be from Kodelka to Covenant as Machida said from the new world was a spin off as the main series focuses on Hyuga blood line.
But whether it is a spiritual successor or not we would love to see get the writing and gameplay we got from the series. My thoughts is that with the successor success Wild Rose gets rights (somehow) and we get the series right. but that is me hoping. Let me know what think as we await what and see what is coming in 2020.

You are not alone as many want Shadow Hearts to return. Machida keeps talking about spiritual successor so that is what I went with. But if can pull of getting the series and is working on a remake, hd collection or sequel people will be more than happy.
