Shadow Hearts Not Alone For The Holidays  is a one of 3 fan fictions using character of the Shadow Hearts series. This will be written as though it was a DLC taken place after the main story ended. Thus we will see Yuri without Alice. This will be displayed in graphic novel style with illustrations instead of the comic book style you have seen from me.

Now I do not own Shadow Hearts as that is owned by Universal Entertainment with all rights going to them. They were created by Matsuzo Machida and the rest of the videogame division that was at Aruze at the time. Rights for the game Western releases are split between Midway and XSEED. Now with no further delay here is the first Christmas themed fan fiction for Shadow Hearts

SHADOW HEARTS 

NOT ALONG FOR THE HOLIDAYS

The town of Grenoble the streets were full of laughter as everyone prepared for the holidays. It was Christmas Eve so it was fitting for the season as snow came down to make this picture perfect. Among the happy native people caught up in celebration was Yuri following Roger with Keith along side him. The wizard had reach out to them after one of his inventions went as he put it sideways.

Yuri : So let me get this straight You found kid crying as he lost his mother and decided to give him one of your inventions.

Roger : I had to do something so I gave him something. A small box that would display the mother images based of off a picture he drew of her and would play a song. The things is though it never worked.

Yuri : It is rude to give a kid a broken toy.

Roger turned around with his tracking device in hand to give Yuri a stern look. Yuri just smiled in response as Keith shook his head as this is the 3rd time Yuri has decided to pic on Roger. But at least it is getting his mind of off Alice.

Roger : I had to do something the kid was balling his eyes out. Anyway it did work partially as it did display the mother face. I just never got the song to work. So I figured it was good for a trick. The only problem is I got this instead.

Roger points to a tower. The tower was ten stories at and took up a 400 square foot space. The structure had a dark aura to it as it didn’t belong in this town. This could be due to the fact it is made by different people or because what Roger fears.

Keith : So you think your invention did all this?

Roger : a big leap I know but the signal the machine put it is coming from this tower. I would hat something to have happened to him because of me. Which is why I got you two.

Yuri : So now we are taking your gift back. Sounds wrong to me.

Keith : I do agree that it isn’t with the Christmas spirit but we need to make sure nothing happens the youth.

Yuri : What is Christmas?

Roger : We will explain later come on.

The 3 move towards the building with a few monsters appearing. Keith and Yuri immediately go into action and waste no time. As Yuri changes in to Amon he goes to work enjoying how it feels to cut lose on these creatures.

With Yuri he let out the rage he still felt from having Alice taken from him. The rage that was satisfied after he had gone after the mask. Even getting the one who took her soul didn’t bring him happiness. This for some reason gave him some joy. Some distraction from mourning.

Keith was also find this enjoyable but not for the same reason. He found it enjoyable as he was able to get away from his brother. Joachim for the past few days have been enjoying himself by sparing with Keith. This sparing is through wrestling and Keith had grown tired of it. That and being the villain to his and Hilda heroes. So this was enjoyable having been able to beat up someone else.

Roger watch the 2 men enjoying there distractions. He was noticing how they are similar in getting away but for opposite reasons. Yuri didn’t wanted something to do so he can thinking about anything else but the woman the family he lost. Keith wanted to get away from his family. The wizard couldn’t help but snicker at irony of what brought them her.

Yuri blast the doors open and turns back in his human form.

Yuri : Lead the way.

Roger: Right.

As they entered the structure Yuri can’t help but feel someone watching him. He turns but no one is there. He shakes his head and follows Roger and Keith lead. As they scaled the tower Keith and Yuri couldn’t help but feel joyed. Not for what they were doing but the fact of who they doing it with. It felt like the old fights they had when they were chasing Simon.

The get to the top where they see the kid with Roger machine. The machine had something attached to it.  It was a rock but Yuri and Keith recognize it immediately. It was a piece of the floating fortress. The place where they faced Albert Simon and the god he summoned.

Yuri: What is that doing here?

Roger: Pieces of the fortress must have survived reentry. But to think it can power the machine to do all of this. Incredible.

Keith : We better stop it before it gets really out of hand.

Once Keith had this the kid turned to them. When he got a look at them a lady of ice appeared. You will not separate me from him again.

Lilly: You will not separate me from him again.

Roger : It talked to us.

Yuri : Isn’t supposed to do that?

Roger: It is supposed to sing to him as a playback of his memory. This ha it interacting with us in real time. That isn’t supposed to be possible.

Keith : Can we worry about that later?

The group then fought the woman with her not only using the tower but also ice related magic against them. This lasted until Yuri transformed into Amon pushing her back. He then realized the boy was similar to him in they are both longing for someone who is gone. Yuri returned to his human form.

Yuri : Your really his mother aren’t you? I don’t know how but Roger machine allowed you to come back. Maybe it is through the rock he attached to it but here you are. Look he hasn’t moved in days. I know as Roger brought us here after he tried to reach a week ago. If he stays here he will die. The best gift you can give him is to let him go.

The mother hearing this turned to look at her son. The boy was frozen in place only turning to look at her. Seeing this Lilly walked over to him gave him one huge and turned to snow freeing the boy from the ice.

Edward: MOM NO.

The boy shouted but it was over powered as the they felt the tower shaking. Keith grabbed Roger and Yuri grabbed the boy. As he grabbed him Roger machine played again in the boys arms as the rock fell apart. This time it was in the voice of Alice

Alice: Please live. If not for yourself then for me.

Hearing this made Yuri realize that his life wasn’t his to throw away. Those days trying to figure out what to do after and who to find should have been spent doing something. They should have been spent finding something meaningful. The tower soon turned to snow revealing the boys house in it. As the snow blew away with the last piece of the floating fortress that was now dust. Roger decided to leave the device with him. Edward though gave it to him saying he no longer needed it and thanked. He just wasn’t ready to say goodbye to her. Roger device helped him with.

But all wasn’t over as Roger Keith still had to explain Christmas to Yuri. They did so at a bar. As they spoke Margret and Zhu Zhen came in finally getting Roger telegraph. They joined in and as they did Yuri sadness of losing Alice that had turned to bottled up rage was melting as he enjoyed his company. At this moment he felt the same presence again but this time knew who it was. He just smiled saying one thing.

Yuri : I will find something meaningful to do with the life you saved. I promise.

Yuri says this to himself as the spirit who watches just looks on and smiles. The smile comes not from him making the promise but the fact he is alone. As another round of drinks is poured the only thing that can be seen is smiles. Even on the god slayer himself. With Alice watching with a smile.
