Fans are still eagerly awaiting any news on The King Of Fighters XV. This includes graphics which fans are still up in the air with. While many hope for improvement over what we got from XIV which way SNK will go is any one guess. One such idea is going for the 2D look similar to what we saw in KOF XIII.
Above is an image of Raiden taken from SNk recruitment page and one indication that we might be getting the 2D look fans want. But while some fans like this idea as they love the anime look started by Arc system works other don’t. This group takes issue not with the look or ascetic but rather the models used.
The issue is that the models weren’t right. This comes in the form of Clark and Ralf who while buff some say were too buff and looked more like they are on steroids then a lot of time at the gym. This is compared to KOF XIV where fans found those models more fighting for the military fighting force men.
This is not the only issue as many found issue with how Joe looked as well as Ryo. Ryo face was ugly where as Joe was incredibly thin. Again this was different for there KOF XIV versions which seemed closer to older version of the characters.
However just because those models were used in KOF XIII doesn’t mean we will be seeing them in XV. The look is the anime like visual that XII had that Arc systems is known for that the 2D crowd is arguing for. Basically you can get the XIV models and just give them a 2d anime look. That is basically how it works for Arc System Works since they use rotter scope.
The whole point is to get that effect back. The effects we see in KOF XIII, in KOF Destiny the game or in Arc games such DBFZ, BB and Guilty Gear Xrd-Strive. Those cool effects that we don’t really get from 3d yet. The word is yet as someone might get it.
Until then we can only wait to see how SNK will proceed. Right now the Raiden image cannot be found anywhere else like that so many like me think it is a tease for KOF XV. But we could be wrong as it could be for another project. We will have to wait and see as we learn more about game. But let me know your thoughts as what we will be getting with KOF XV.
