We have asked a lot of question what The King Of Fighters XV should be as we await the game release. Well one question that hasn’t been asked here is should the game have English voice over. For the most part we have Japanese with English subtitle in main cannon game. The exception was maximum Impact but they weren’t main cannon and it is hard to see how SNK sees them now.
Now to be fair the line reading wasn’t that good and many fans find it comical if not cringe worthy. This comes from fast line reading and just horrible writing. As you can see and hear.
Hopefully if we do get English dub it is better than that. The best hope for fans is if the cut scenes dialogue is similar to Mortal Kombat XI. Nice acting for the most part with lines fans love to hear as it goes back to lore of the game.
The issue with that is that might take away from the cool intros fans have been longing to see. Old school fans of the game want to see flash intros and not just everyone getting these conversations with eachother. It was something we want in XIV but never got. With some character we got a small bit but not much.
But that is if we get English VO. Keep in mind we are talking about SNK and only one 2 of there games got English voices and that was the Maximum Impact series. Only 2 out of 3. Given how SNK is it is highly unlikely. Also fans have been happy with they way SNK has done there games so chances are it will be Japanese Audio with English Sub as it has been.
At the same time you never know. So we will see what happens as we await for more news on the game development.
