It is time we talked once again about Shadow Hearts and the fantastic world it gave us that some day we hope to return too. This time we will be talking about Halley and whether or not his power is linked to his mother.
First a reminder on who Halley is. Halley is the son of Kodelka. The hero of Kodelka which technically started the Shadow Hearts Universe. He is the leader of the London rats who Yuri and the other helped out. You only get to play him late in Shadow Hearts 1 but during this time we see him show off a great deal of power only to be calmed by his mother telepathically .
It is this great power that we ask about today. Halley power is name ESP in the game and it is powerful. His final move is sending all enemies into a black hole after all. But the question here is does this power come from him being Kodelka the key of darkness son or is it his own? Now when I ask this I do not mean if Halley power is connected directly to Kodelka. I am asking is his power a by product of being her son.
A key of darkness has her representing all dark magic as Alice being the key of light represents light magic. But we don’t know much about these titles and thus we don’t know if being the child to one of the keys means you will have great power. This is why looking at Halley is so important. Now this will be difficult as we don’t see him or Kodelka again after SH1 as they went to the new world. Maybe if From the New World got a sequel we might have gotten to see Halley in the party as an adult but that is guess work.
Also Alice and Kodelka are the only living keys we have seen in the series. So as to whether this power can be passed down or is it just to that person we don’t know. To me the keys were to give Kodelka a big role in the story but as to the over all universe we cannot say. But keep in mind we do have power that go down the bloodline such as Fusion. So maybe with Halley we do see that being the key gives your descendants a great power that is not the same as being one of the keys but important all the same.
Keep in mind we are looking SH1. The reason why that is a big deal is because the character roles we are used to such as Fusion not casting spells out side of using there souls came after wards. So for all we know with the magic introduce for Covenant and From The World the keys would have been casters with great power to help stellars of crest much less Halley.
I can only imagine that role Halley would play in that regard as being an over powered spell caster. Keep in mind Gheppetto, Lucia and Richardo are normal casters. Alice was treated as you standard caster but. If she would come up in the series gain I can imagine her and Kodelka showing of this power in a more grand fashion let along what they would do with Halley. But that is something to see when we get the series back. Let me know your thoughts on this.
