The King Of Fighters XV has a large assortment of characters to pick from. Well with us talking about those from the past I figured we should talk about 2 of the big ones. What that comes to is Mukai and Magaki the bosses of KOF 2003 and XI.
Both characters were killed by the end of the Ash saga but with Verse rest we could see them return. Being that is the case what should we expect from them? Well we should look at what we have. Now to get out of the way these 2 are polar opposites in views as Mukai doesn’t think they should underestimate humans while Magaki thinks they are useless and scum. So basically if they were brought back we would have a battle for leader ship in the absences of Saki.
That is if they can free them from that distant land. From what we understand Saki freed those from a distant land so he can use the gate to rewrite history so they were never defeated. How he unsealed them is unclear or for that matter where this distant land is. But for argument sake lets say they can do it. We might see an a fight for leader ship as Mukai and Magaki are high tear in the group. As to who else can equal to them we would have to see.
At the moment the ones we know are out there are Shroom, Shion and Botan who the 2 would probably rally to there side or over power them and get them out of the way. It depends on how that goes. Magaki could claim to run things but Mukai was loyal to Saki to the point you can see similarities to Goenitz and Orochi that it feels like he would try to take control to say he runs things but try and do the same thing as his master.
Magaki might just do the opposite. I say just as we don’t how he got along with the rest of the group since he was revealed and killed in XI. But what we do know is he dislikes Mukai and doesn’t have patience expecting all things he wants done. So basically a boss with a short fuse in general according to wiki would make intense battle between the 2 powerful giants.
But why do I say or? Well basically see us getting 1 or the other. While there is a huge demand for returning characters from all sagas I doubt we will get big hitter from the same one much less major bosses like these 2. With said I can see this going 2 ways. 1 they want to give Magaki another chance so they bring him back or 2 they bring back Mukai as fans have taken a liking to him. That and it doesn’t help Magaki transformation was meant to freak people out. No really that is why they gave him bug eyes and moves so weird.
But what can they offer to story? Basically the same as Botan. We can assume they have information about Verse to some degree maybe what it is or wants. But as to how much either can tell us is hard to say. I reference Botan maybe hearing something about Verse from Saki or form him since she is good at gathering information as well. But I doubt Saki would tell anyone more than he needed to. At the same time they can always learn about it and maybe put 2 and 2 together. It is what they had to do when releasing the seal of the Orochi.
But that is if we get them back. To find out we will wait and see. Those are my thoughts on the 2. Let me know yours.
