Shadow Hearts What If Koudelka Was Playable

I was wondering if Shadow Hearts became a longer running series would character get a second chance or will there roles change. For this we will be talking about Koudelka the main character of the franchise. Understand I said franchise as Shadow Hearts because started with Koudelka staring the lady herself.

To be clear Koudelka also was in the first Shadow Hearts game as the guiding hand to Yuri aka the voice causing him great headaches. We also get to have her son Halley as a party member. But what if we got her to join the cast. This can happen 2 ways both as the main character with the party forming around her or her joining the party. For this posting we will be discussing her as a party member and not the main.

As a party member we will be having joining either in a sequel or a new game plus in A Shadow hearts Remake or remaster. Basically an extra character to have in the place of Alice in your party as your caster. With her emphasis on dark magic she will probably be most people go to if this was to ever happen just to have the attack version of Alice who is more light and support. But what about a sequel?

Well when it comes to it we are talking about someone you bump into who is insanely powerful. So best bet is we get her maybe toward the middle of your journey as she is helping out someone and sensing you she ask for you help and after she is in your party. Maybe a friend of Halley that she feels she needs to help. As a character she will probably be the mother figure.  But with the way Shadow Heart stories are told what does that mean?

By that I mean everyone in your party is fair game to have some fun with. Whether that is Karin or Alice panty shots with the boys getting slapped for it. Yuri and Zhu Zhen trading country bumpkin insults or Anastasia and Joachim sneaking around causing trouble or getting kicked between the legs. So if that is the cause it is means this calm mature woman of beauty will need to be involved with a few gauges. Especially if we are going by Covenant way of story telling.

So how would that be balanced. Basically We have party members causing trouble she would probably rain them in. Of course in comical fashion which is Koudelka politely scaring them the same way Unohana scares everyone on Bleach.

Basically imagine a sweat woman saying telling you to stop. The second time she says she doesn’t raise her voice but the manner she speaks in scares you so much that you just say okay to what ever she says.

As for power I imagine spells only she can cast. As part of a party she will have to fill role and cast fits. With most of spells being elemental except for the last few. You know how it is with JRPG. You are OP in the end no matter how you start out and Shadow Hearts is no different.

Now as for over all arc we started with her helping out Halley friends I think that should be it. Basically thanking people who helped or put up with her son while Albert had her tortured.  Now granted she was watching as we learned from when Yuri met Halley and she calmed him down. But she was still gone and may feel like saying thanks even to people we the players never got to see.

But that is the best I can think of her as a party member. Let me know your thoughts below. As for the next one I will talk about the idea coming back as the main protagonist. Until then let me know your thoughts.
