The King Of Fighters XV is the next installment of SNK long running team based fighting franchise. It is the 2nd in a new arc so it should continue the story started in XIV but this raises an interesting question. How many stories should be covering in this story game?
When it comes to SNK only a few teams cover or touch on the main story leaving others to be gags mostly. This is difference when looking team Korea ending which basically gag as compared to Team Japan which touches on the story in someway. Now granted this depends on which teams matter. Team Ikari and flame wielders normally are the ones to focus on. But who else is in that pool varies and as such we can have talk about other stories.
This could allow us to finish up stories such the dragon spirit which was left hanging from KOF XI. Basically Ron is waiting to take the power Kensou and Bao have between them as it is supposed to be greater than even the Oriochi according to Ron. If we get Duo Lon in the next game with Ash it would be nice to wrap that up.
But this brings up the question how many stories will KOF XV cover. Will we watch Ron and Nest as we deal with Verse and the evil it brought? Will we find out about the other members of Orochi and Those From The Past are planning. Or will everyone be taken by surprise by Rugal next act? It is something we will have to wonder and more.
More being we have unknown factor in just how many people SNK will use Verse as reason to bring them back. We already have teasing of Rugal, Igniz with Orochi sealed. But we have no idea if that is the extent. SNK can use this as a way to introduce something new through retcon saying it was said to be gone.
Now will they do that is something we will have to see. Let me know your thoughts on this.
