We are waiting for news on The King Of Fighters XV. As we wait we imagine what the game can offer us. Not just playable character but also answers on lore. One question is Igniz of NEST Power
Igniz appeared in KOF 2001 as the final boss. He took over NEST in the same entry when he killed his father. As we are introduced to Igniz he fights using the technology NEST has become known for through the saga. But as we learn there is more to him then shiny toys. We learn he has power that isn’t really explained.
Along with his living cape and wipe Igniz wields a power the can mimic the effects of lightning of fire. We see this as he numerous moves showing this. We also see him being able to using cosmic power as well as some magic. This comes from his HSDM from 2002 which had him do this in one move. But why does this matter as it can just be Igniz flexing his muscle.
A Fighting game is no different then a comic. As such when someone shows there moves they show some of there power. With Igniz we are talking about power he either had to himself (explaining more of the god complex) or NEST was able to harness and or replicate. If they did replicate that means they had to get it from somewhere. If it is from somewhere we have a new point of story to look into for NEST since for the most part they were busy focusing on how to harness and utilize Kyo dna.
But if this is Igniz power we need to learn more about it. What does it mean and is he in perfect control. The suit can also be a means of helping him keep the power under control if SNK so chose to go that route. It would give us some history on Igniz family as we also now very little about him or his father. Especially the magic as it seems similar to another SNK villain from the past and it would be nice to see if there is a connection.
But those are my thoughts on Igniz and what I hope we learn about his power. Let me know yours as we await more on KOF XV.
