The King Of Fighters XV Why Was The Leak Reasonable

The King Of Fighters XV is in development with fans awaiting for news on the game. Last night I posted about a leak talking about 40 characters, new pallets and that the game will resemble 2002 um. I want to dig into this a little to explain my thinking behind it. To recap here is the leak information.

According to a leak, some details about Kof XV would have escaped from one involved in the development of the game.

• The Character Templates were all redone from scratch, SNK does not intend to reuse anything from KOF XIV

• The game because of the brutal improvement of the graphs and having to redo everything from scratch, the game had 40 characters

• The gameplay will be based on KOF 2002 Unlimited Match

• KOF XV is planned to launch in August 2021

• SNK revealed that KOF XIV officially reached 700,000 copies sold by bundling its PC / PS4 versions and that the company plans to achieve 1 million copies with KOF XV.

• Snk does not think of launching a game trailer before July

Now for why I say reasonable. Most leaks are everything you can think of they bring back a lot of fan favorite things. Things we have been asking for or haven’t seen in a long time that sounds unfounded or over the moon. The roaster size, and gameplay combined with a August launch before all this pandemic stuff happened sounded like it might be happening.

Now at the roaster size. The according to the leak is 40 many note that is smaller than xiv. XIV had 50 at launch. The thing about that as many other fans pointed out is that they are using a new engine with unreal which we know is a fact as SNK themselves have stated as much. With that last part as true them using a smaller roaster makes sense given that they want to make sure they get it done right. Especially given how many people took shots at XIV because of its graphics.

Now for gameplay. They say it will be based on 2002 um. This is a wish for fans mainly because how the max mode system worked. Max mod in XIV was of off heavy attack which you can combo in. In 2002 UM you can do that off of any move. Now this is a guess since as you can read we don’t know what SNK if this is right was basing this on. They use the word inspired which can mean they are using the gameplay as a base.

Lastly time. When saying this keep in mind we are going on the fact it can be based on how things were before the world was under lock down due to a virus. As such an August release makes since given the fact if this was starting from earlier this year about January would have given enough time for the hype machine to get everyone excited showing off the new look for the series. Also it would be nice timing to be released this year. If things were to go well this year we would see the release of the game as SNK told Korean investors it would be doing so if things went well.

Now this is all based on the fact this leak is real. It can be as some are saying fake. Nothing more than a gamer or fan throwing through there thoughts out there using the word leak to make us all pay attention. Or this can be something real. We will have to see and find out.
