We have been talking about Bloody Roar and what it would be like talking about a what it would be like bring back the franchise. From the story to the character. Today we will be looking into Nagi from Bloody Roar 4 and what she would be like if the series returns.
Nagi was a human up till the attack in Bloody Roar 3 by Xion. The attack would awaken the Spurious power. The spurious mission is to defeat and absorb the unborn as Gai many ways to combat the force now out of control. This power would take control of Nagi completely and would in most endings come under her control as she defeats the unborn in some way but not being able to go back to being human.
Now Nagi only appeared in playable in BR4 but as I mentioned she was attacked in 3 by Xion meaning if we do bring back the series we can bring her back as human and I think that will be best. Since the creators wanted her to be similar to Dead Or Alive Kasumi it would probably be best to have be dragged into this conflict. Given how we are just talking about just relaunch we can have her appear in the series as civilian with fans knowing there will be a lot more of her coming later on.
The biggest issue with Nagi is her transformation for the most part. You see it isn’t a full one and is meant not to be as she is to absorb Xion by Gaia. The problem is this looks more Atlus Digital Devil character in mid transformation than Bloody Roar beast. We should change but we need to stay true to the character. The best way I can think of doing that is making Nagi transformation change as the series progress.
At first I think we should keep the original transformation as a start but as the series progresses she should change. The change will be a more complete version. But to separate her from Xion she should resemble more beast then bug with her unborn Spurious state. This would show that she is fighting for Gaia but under her own control. From there we can have an altered version where she is a different bug type unborn which will be similar to Xion bug but have its own differences.
The 2 version would make a better version of the character. Now as for her goal I think she should be the one to look into a way to become human again and we see where that takes her. Again she is meant to resemble DOA Kasumi and she is always dragged into battles. Nagi should be no different. Given her hard exterior but playful and young at heart character that would make her all the more interesting.
But those are my thoughts. Let me know what you think about the idea.
