The trademark for Bloody Roar was renewed and many fans of the series are hyped to see it come back. But naysayers will point to the facts that it doesn’t meant it is coming back only that Konami is making sure they don’t lose the rights. That and that we are talking about Konami has many saying this might not happen. But I do see a light at the end of the tunnel that I hope to show you why this could be a thing.
First understand that it is true that a renewal in trademark is making sure you own the rights as all companies must do so the government make sure no one rips you off. But in the videogame landscape this usually makes news when a company has plans for that game. For most they turn to Capcom as they have done it with Devil May Cry and we soon got a DMC 5 later down the road. So for some this is true but what about Konami.
Konami has had a big question mark on it since its big names left to do there own thing and the company although promising to still make videogames seems not to be. For many that is why the rumor on Silent Hill is so captivating. Basically the rumor has it that Konami has Sony developing the game through Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). According to the rumor Konami didn’t have the money and people to develop the title and when asking around Sony picked it up.
What this means is that we might be seeing Konami do what Sega is doing and giving lending it titles out to other developers to bring to life the same way you see Sega do with Sonic Mania, Shenmue 3 and Streets Of Rage 4. What does this mean for Bloody Roar. It means the door is open and other Konami titles might be in development under Sony roof and Bloody Roar might be one of them.
Fans have been asking for this game to come back and we know everyone would like it has the prank showed awhile back. The prank I am speaking off had imaged of a Bloody Roar case for the PS3 making rounds on the internet. It got a lot of buzz and excitement going but we found it was false. But despite it being false we see it got a lot of attention so imagine what this will be like finding out this was real.
The fans would go nuts and that is a something that would help the PS5. Imagine seeing a new Bloody Roar whether it is a reboot or continuation running on PlayStation 5. It would be a great deal as there is no other fighting game series like Bloody Roar. Granted it is a guarantee for sales of the systems by that alone but many old fans would by and through them and promotion will gain new ones making it a hit. But those are my thoughts.
