The King Of Fighters A New Beginning Ch 28-1 is out and we will be talking about. It isn’t translated to so this is my interpretation but it will have images from the chapter so there will be spoilers. As such if you do not want to be spoiled stop now. AGAIN SPOILER AHEAD.

We start out with Nakoruru praying as the battle again Verse and the shadow that came out of him begins on the ground. Team Fatal Fury and Shun are taking on team South Town who are 1 member down as it seems Geese isn’t fairing well with the power he got from Verse. We will not know what it is doing to him at the moment but we see he cannot stand so it is something to take in.

We then go back to ground and what these shadows can do as the KOF XIV roaster takes them on. What we see as they fight is that we have to 6 people taking on one of these shadows. This is due to the fact they are taking bosses. Bosses in most games fight one on one but in KOF manga since the tournament is held for sinister reasons the manga artist often have the entire roaster take on the boss to which they hold there own until the heroes beat them.

Now keep in mind most fans believe the are not at full power. This is based on The Orochi in Iori ending for KOF XIV where we see he is to weak to hold off the sacred treasures team. Using that as the base the thought here is that these shadows or spirits at either at half or a quarter of there power.

But given that they are still strong enough to hold there own against numerous fighters at once. This is due to the tremendous power they have. I used this for an example a lot of the time but Goenitz and the other heavenly kings are walking natural disasters. We know this from 96 where Goenitz for a grand entrance just unleashed hurricane winds that caused mass destruction on a stadium.

Bearing in mind that is just him showing off you can imagine the level of power that the roaster has to deal with. But he is only one part of the chapter as we see the other fighters take on Shermie. And the fight start off with Shermie and Benimaru. Just to be clear Shermie isn’t copying Benimaru it is just a theme with her team.

When it comes down to the Orochi team they were meant to be a dark reflection of Team Japan. From Shermie being version of Benimaru to Yashiro and Chris being dark version of Kyo and Goro. This not just reflected in elements but in moves as fans know from playing them. What we see in this chapter is that there moves are stronger version as well not just dark.

But with that being the case we are seeing the current roaster get moves in as they cover the blind spots. How effective that will be against these we will have to see over time but for now it is working and that is where we are leaving it.
