Fans are looking forward to getting news on The King Of Fighters XV. And with June supposedly looking like it will be the big news event we are just sitting with anticipation on the unveiling. But as we wait for the game news other titles push forward and we hope KOF XV will have some of those ideas. This goes rollback netcode to DLC story mode.
As seen in Mortal Kombat XI After we get the 2nd half and final version of the story mode. The story that many in the fighting game community love to see as find out how Shan, Nightwolf and Fuji trip time ends. We also like it as it brings in DLC characters into the story. Something we have been asking for and something we would like to see in more games such as KOF XV.
Now we don’t know what the story for the game will look like as we don’t know anything about XV other than the logo. But the idea of this is to have DLC story to bring DLC characters into the fold. For KOF that will be different since the story includes what happens at the tournament and then that is it. Given the premise is basically strong fighters gather only to find out the tournament is being misused is the plot for the whole series.
But that doesn’t mean a DLC story can’t work. We can have it as characters showing how characters get on after the tournament in more detail. We in the middle of the new arc and with all the characters brought back or mention it might be hard to put that all in the game original plot. For those who can’t make in you can use DLC story mode to cover it.
For example we word that Leona father is back thanks to Verse fans might like to see what he is like since the only point of contact is from cutscenes since we never got to play him. If we get him as DLC we can see Gaidel interact with Ikari team. Heidern, Orochi members and finally Leona. The same can be said for Jeff since it suggested he is back as well. We can see how he gets along revisiting people from Geese and Tung to his sons seeing how they are doing.
But we won’t stop there as through each one we will learn something about Verse and that will be cool to see the story writing of them getting reacquainted with there old lives and remember or trying to forget about what they got from Verse in terms of memories. For the normal characters it will be one thing but the bosses such Igniz and Orochi will try to use those memories for there own and that will be nice to see.
This checking on lost souls would be a nice idea and it is something we are looking for instead of having a DLC character just appear and they got maybe one special interaction and nothing else. That is my take on it but let me know yours as we await more news on KOF XV this up coming month.
