In the latest rumor for SNK we are not only expecting The King Of Fighters XV cinematic trailer at New Game + Expo but a major partnership that will go into 2022. These 2 will have there own versus game.
On the 23rd SNK CORPORATION will bring a lot of news to its fans and here is one of the information passed on by one of SNK’s developers.
• KOF XV will appear on the 23rd with a cinematic Teaser Trailer showing a quick fight between Kyo and Iori and at the end of the teaser saying when we will have the first gameplay of the game and confirming that it will come out for PS4 / Xbox One / Switch / Steam / Epic Games Store
• Metal Slug on the same day will be announced for consoles and will become a 100% new series.
• SNK closed a partnership with a Japanese giant and in 2022 the universe of these companies will face each other.
• Samurai Shodown sold on its PS4 and Xbox One versions together 900,000 copies.
• The King of Fighters: Destiny will return but it will be done by a Japanese studio and will abandon the 3D animation style, but information is coming soon.
Now I don’t think the partnership is a thing but lets say its is and breakdown as there are 2 videogame companies we can think off. Those companies being Arc System Works ,Namco Bandai and Tecmo Koei.
I am suggesting Bandai Namco and Tecmo Koei as SNK has lent them characters with Geese and Haohamaru for Namco Bandai and Mai and Kula For Tecmo Koei. Both companies have a good amount games that would make a face off interesting.
Plus this shows the companies have done business and it has worked out well. Mai was brought into DOA not once but twice. Also Geese and Haohmaru both were well received by Bandai Namco fans. SO a versus with them would be cool and probably will be well received by the fighting community.
If you noticed we are looking at Namco Bandai fighting game and the Shonen games. If you don’t know Namco Bandai is the one who handle all of Shonen Jump games for the most part. (Seriously they do.) While it would be crazy to see Goku and probably Ryo have a beam battle most FGC fans think it will be with the company very own games and not Shonen Jump.
If that is the case then why is Arc System Works here? Well it is do to the fact that it is a company SNK fans would love to see a battle with for the mere fact we want are dear characters in 2d. When it comes to the anime look you go to Arc System Works so the thinking is we get a versus with them they give are beloved, Samurai Shodown, The King Of Fighters, Art Of Fighting and Last Blade characters an animated make over. Plus it would be nice to see Terry versus Sol.
But again I don’t see this happening. Yet on the off chance I am wrong I see these companies being the most likely and Namco Bandai at the top. What about you though. let me know what you think.
