Tower Of God Ep 9 The One Horned Orger is out and we will be breaking it down. Since this is a breakdown there will be spoilers. If you do not want to spoiled stop now and go check out the episode over at Crunchyroll.com. AGAIN SPOILERS AHEAD.
In this episode we see 2 plains in the works 1 that Ho is following and Androssi as she takes out her fellow fisherman. As she does so she gives a small back story in how she was adopted and killed her fellow sisters so that she can get better meals.
Now while this was a moment to give us some back story on her this back story as well as what Androssi is doing in taking out the other fisherman is a lesson to Bam. This is a competition and if you want to win you will have to have to do so for yourself as everyone around you is. Don’t do this for Rachel or anyone else but yourself. And she is right this is a competition and it seems there can only be one person and thus you should fight with yourself in mind.
Now there is one problem with that and that we are talking about Bam. He understand there can only be one winner and that you must do everything you can to win. The thing is though that is not Bam. He isn’t that type of person and at the end of the day even if it is how Rachel is it isn’t how he want it to be.
Of course after this moment they are attacked by the fisherman Androssi were working over as one of them has an ignition weapon. Bam takes the blow using his tide controller. He also takes on some injures since the shield wasn’t that perfect. But after doing this he leaves to go check on Rachel.
Which might made things worse. Remember he is leaving to weak fighters with Androssi and she was only stopping to try and teach Bam a lesson. . Now that he is gone they are in trouble.
Now keep in mind there have been 2 things going on at the same time as Androssi and Bam conversation. One of them is Quant fighting Hantz and the other 2 spear bearers. And this goes as we expect as Quant is to powerful for Hantz. Keep in mind that is saying something as Hantz has shown he can hold his own against a princess of Jahad.
The issue here is that Quant is stronger than the princess of Jahad. So it is no surprise that Hantz is having trouble. Something Hantz knew early on and thus he thought he can sacrifice himself to give his comrades an opening. But they instead chose to run and by choosing to run they have angered Quant even more for being traitors.
And now we move on to the 3rd part of this episode which is Ho. Ho moves towards Rachel with knowledge that he knows about her and Bam. This is to lore her out but we see this all planned by Khun. We come to this as soon as Ho takes Rachel with his knife we are meant by Quant whose angry as Khun told about this before going up.
Ho is confused as remember he was told this would help him get to the top of the tower. This was all to the point so Bam would take on Quant. But the knife slips and Ho stabs Rachel. It leaves him open for Quant to freeze him in place and he falls to the ground.
Keep in mind Bam is here and he just made this statement about he would rather win with his friends. The people who signed the people saying they were friend. That same Bam now is seeing one of his friends stabbing his oldest friend. This hits our dear young boy hard. And it hits just as Ho decides to take his own life on top of it after telling us he really hates Bam for having the power he wanted. A power to protect all those he cared for.
Given what just happen Bam regains himself and helps Adrossi fight Quant. Now before Quant stopped this by using a Ranker level technique. A technique that to his shock Bam was able to do. To fans we were not surprised as that is just how anime works when it comes to writing a protagonist.
The thing to note is that we didn’t see the Rankers be shocked by this. Keep in mind we didn’t pam to them but they might not be shocked as we know that Bam does posses incredible power. But even with this it won’t be an easy fight. But Androssi does explain that she does understand Bam in that she would like to make to the top of the tower to which we Pan to a cute Anak as we see her getting her hair done.
Now this fight is going on as Serena arrives and she is confused as to how this happens. But we see Bam providing support for Androssi as Serena closes Ho eyes. The battle basically goes down with both Bam and Androssi not being able to defeat Quant. At least not Physically as Androssi had no problem tricking him to get his sticker giving her team the win. But this is far from ending on a positive note as Serena slaps proves. As now we have Bam worrying over Rachel as he takes in what happened in this last and the audience wondering what will be come things now that team B won.
I ask as we need to see if this all went as Khun planned or did things get out of hand. We will have to see in the next episode.
