The PlayStation 5 is Sony next gen console and as such it will be bringing new games and installments to players who line up to get. This happens with most system. What makes PS5 so interesting though is that there seems to be an emphasis on old series getting a second life as well.
You may be thinking I am referring to the backwards compatibility but that is not the case. I do hope we can play paste generation of Sony games on PS5 I am referring to something else. What I am referring to is the fact that we hear numerous rumors of remake or remasters planned for the new console. An interesting thing to note.
It is interesting as with a new system you look forward to the new games that will come with it. Case in point many are looking at when they will hear more about Godfall and Outriders. 2 new games for next gen with Godfall being an exclusive for the PS5. And with there being more on the way for the systems new games are being discussed. However they are not the only games.
With the PlayStation 5 we are hearing about numerous remaster, reboots and remakes. You can say some of this is fan hype but there is legit talk on series that we haven’t seen since PS3 or even going further back to the PS2. Besides hope for A return of Legend Of Dragoon we hear talks bout Jak and Daxter, Silent Hill, Bloody Roar and today I hear we might even see Resistance remastered for the PS5. We haven’t heard anything about resistance since 3 but to hear about that along side games such as Demon Souls remaster is something.
Now yes some of this can be just generated by fans as these titles as well as many have strong fan basses. Fan who have been petition and asking about them for awhile. But all of them? What if since event now the PS2 is being said to be one of the greatest systems has Sony just like Capcom look at there old library to see what series they can bring back that fans would like and that can bring in the money?
I think it is a good question as we look at what we can get from the PS5 in terms of games. We will get new ones but with so much talk on remasters and remakes we might be looking at a mix of both new and old. Even with backwards compatibility we can still see these games come back to capture the series showing improvements or like Final Fantasy VII ways to continue from the remasters showing there is a market here. A market that Sony should by all means tape into. But those are my thoughts let me know what you think.
