Tower Of God Ep 10 Beyond The Sadness Breakdown

Tower Of God ep 10 Beyond The Sadness is out and we will be breaking it down. Since this is a breakdown there will be spoilers. If you do not want to be spoiled please go check out the episode on Crunchyroll. AGIAN SPOILERS AHEAD.

We start the episode with a fall out from the last game with Ho death and Rachel injury. This is important as for 2 episode we have been wondering just how much of this has gone to Khun plan. We now see basically all of it as not only was it that he made sure his friends passed but that he also got rid of Ho.

We lean why he was chosen is due to Ryun telling Khun she will be dropping out. Since she is not looking to climb any further Khun doesn’t have to worry about her. But she tell him to worry about Ho as his jealousy will drive him mad. We saw a bit of that after Ho learned that Bam got pointers from Laure which didn’t sit well with him.

Now Khun mentions he hasn’t changed really at all leads us to understand he has done this before. How many times we don’t know since that is what we are left with before going to Yuri who is still looking for Bam and the Black March that he borrowed. We see her getting angrier as her party seems to be growing.

We then jump back to Khun as someone is pounding on his door. We are then introduced to the comedy segment as Rak has been made into a kid by the administrator for being rude to him. As funny as this is we don’t know how long this will last as it will be messed up if a big spear bearer is stuck like this so lets enjoy it for now.  I mean he has to turn back to make sure the matches are fair. Right?

Now Rak came to Khun hoping he can turn him back but sadly for Rak Khun isn’t a wave controller and thus he cannot turn him back. The meeting between these 2 comes with the idea that Khun has to break the news to Rak that Bam isn’t going to move forward. With Rachel out of the running there is no reason for Bam to proceed up the tower with them since that was his only reason. The 2 are then met with Bam who explains what happens to Rachel.

Now due to Khun logic Rak thinks as well as the audience Bam might be here to tell them he will not be climbing but it is the opposite. He will climb to be Rachel legs. Something they were not expecting especially Khun. Remember Khun sees himself having gone through what Bam did and Rachel manipulating him. But it seems that isn’t the case and makes him look back on what his relationship with his sister might have been like. ( I am going with sisters as we don’t know what she is to him yet in the show.)

Now that isn’t the only thing we see here. Bam has come to ask everyone to give Ho a proper send off. Keep in mind that even with all the things Ho said at the end and what he did to Rachel in taking away her ability to walk Bam stills want to give him a funeral with everyone attending. Well almost everyone as the Yu Hang Sung but Quant and Lero are there.

Now the funeral leads to drinking and people basically letting for from Laure thanking Serina for getting him out of the way to Hantz basically making sure Bam joined them. The thing is that this was Serina send off which Shibisu caught on to.

This mad fans feel weird as the way they argued made it feel like a couple to be. But at the moment that is not how things will play out as Serina gives Shibisu her knife and heads out. Hopefully not to do anymore stealing.

Now with the drinking out of the way we have Khun putting his plan into action to help Bam and that means going to met with Lero. The meeting is to help Khun make sure Rachel can get up the tower which means he will have to become an administrator. The issue is that will take a special test.

Now while we have that meeting going on we have Yu Hang Sung meeting with supposed wave teacher who is not who he says is and is out to get the Green April and Black March from Anak. To compare beast to which Yu ruins the guy fun by telling him he will not fight him but instead help him.

This leads to the rankers explain who passed. An explanation that leads to Yu Hang Sung showing his cruel side. Now understand that from what I can see Yu is a wave controller. I am saying this so you understand the water torture he puts the guy through may not be something every ranker can do.

But it takes care of one of the 2 people who didn’t make it. Khun then makes his statement saying he wants to complain for Rachel being cut for his friend. A statement that gets a laugh out of  him as Khun having a griend seems odd and out of character.

To return the statement when Yu asked how did Khun know about the specific test for administrator Khun responded by his family name so again it feels like either Yu knows Khun family or him rather personally. The issue is that the special test can only be take by an irregular. A task Bam willing step forward for.

Yu then leads Bam and Rachel to the door which Bam can go in and they cannot. As to why Rachel is with him we don’t know. But what we do learn from Lero is the taboo surrounding irregulars and the tower that they will bring destruction to it. As such Parakewi says he would distance himself from him.

Now Khun says the same thing only that Khun is saying it as an act. An act that everyone besides Rak can see through. Remember he did the same thing for the tag game as he points to distance himself from Bam but yet was planning on helping him the best way he could the whole time. As such we see everyone who we care about basically show a spin and will stand by Bam. Why wouldn’t they since he helped them win and is a nice guy to boot.

The thing is it is now left to Bam who is now face to face with the floor master. What will come of this is something we will have to see in the next episode.
