Still Soo Many Questions On The PlayStation 5

This week we got the reveal of the PlayStation 5. Not only did we get a look at the console as well as the controller and see what that comes with but we also got to see the games coming to the system. Games that covered many different genres from platforming to horror. From triple A games to indie title. Yet with all that we are still left with many question regarding the console.

We will start with the glaring issue of price. While many didn’t think we would hear about the price for the system it should be noted that we also have no idea when we will hear about it. No matter how you cut it a next gen console will not be a cheap thing so many would like to know the prices early on. This is so they can save for it now or wait till later when the price drops. Especially given how tight people wallets are thanks to the impact of COVID 19 asking themselves if they have enough money to pay for a game much less either new console is something people would like to figure start thinking about now.

Next is function. While we know what lies with in the PS5 from hardware stand point thanks to Mark interview and GDC presentation we still have questions. These questions come as Sony keeps teasing us they have more to show. With avoiding some questions or only answering them partially you can see why gamers have that feeling. And before you say it is just Sony selling us on the PS5 remember this is also coming from developers telling us we haven’t seen all the system has to offer.

From backwards compatibility to other functions of the system Sony seems to have a good amount to still show us. Case in point in one of the images from the reveal we can see a VR head set yet we didn’t really see a VR game. We say game that can be VR but during the presentation that was not shown.

Lastly is games. We saw plenty of them this week at the reveal yet we still have questions on that. Think about this for all the games you saw which one will be launch games? Spider Man Miles Morales seems to be one as the game is set for a holiday release of 2020. Meaning this can be one but what about the others? If you look closely at some of the dates we are talking next year with others maybe coming out next year.

To give a good example of this Resident Evil Village was one of the big hits of the reveal but it isn’t coming out until 2021 hopefully. You see if you look into the game it is said to be coming out 2021 tentative which means they think and that means it is a developer version of hoping for a date.

Now we are in Summer. That is important as we are set to get a lot of information on all kinds of gaming during this period naturally. With new systems we will be getting more so. Now the pandemic has upset most people plan yes but with the world recovering or recovered in some cases the flow of information has normalized. While we don’t have physical event we do have streams which will relay that information. And that is what I am hoping to hear more of information.

Right now with the PS5 we have what feels to be a good amount of information on it but not all. This information will be coming out I have no doubt about that but I hope it comes in a timely manner rather than maybe just last minute. With the way everyone makes it sound this information is a big deal. If it is that good I hope to hear about it sooner rather later. Let fans know the information now so they can decide if this is the console they want or if they should get one at all.

The new slogan for the PS5 is power your dreams. Right now we have plenty of dreams as we await to see what the system has to offer. I want to bring you back to the stream where we saw at the end all these developers welcoming us to the system. Developers who did show us games from there studio and those who didn’t leaving us wondering what they are working on. I doubt we will learn all of that this year. Yet I do hope we learn the full picture of the console and what it can do as well as the great games you will get when purchase system as we hope fore more through its life cycle.
