Mortal Kombat XI Aftermath had a scene in story mood where Fujin and Noob Saiboot talked about the wind god losing his life at the hand of the nether realm creation. This is how it goes.
“You lost to me at your temple, Fujin. Now, Kronika has made me even stronger.” Noob
“You did not win that fight. You ran away.” Fujin.
This conversation is reference to Mortal Kombat mythology. So basically all the games are referenced one way or another in this game.
