One Punch Man fans are venting for season 2. The last OVA is out and fans aren’t to pleased. Along with animation fans are voicing other concerns. You can see these concerns below.
The fact that JC staff have been given way more time to prepare these mini episodes and still fail to impress in any department scares the hell out of me if they are given a season 3..
I did not like both of them. OVA 5 was kind of ok, but the animation quality, while at least consistant (unlike Season 2), was still not very good, which shows that JC Staff just aren’t great, even when they have time. Sounds are still terrible. I also don’t get why Puri didn’t one-shot a tiger level monster (especially in his angel style).
OVA 6 felt awkward to me. I laughed when I realized that it’s a zombieman murder case again, but that was it. Delivery of certain jokes didn’t work for me, it had scene transition issues that left me confused as to what is going on (I had the same problem with Season 2, but I had the manga so at least I knew what was suppoused to be happening). Animation and art, again, didn’t have horrible dips like in Season 2, but they weren’t great either.
All of this is just my opinion of course.
Well, that was 24min of my life i wont get back. Worst OVAs ever…
I have never really complained about animation or art but even I must admit that OVA looks like it was a fan animation. OVA 5 looked a little better, the scene of Puri Puri Prisoner running away from the prison was acceptable. OVA 6 had its characters move as little as possible, it looks like they intentionally avoided having to add any detail as shown when they didn’t draw any injuries on a Zombieman that just took an explosion point blank, and the snow covering Speed of Sound Sonic didn’t look like it was actually touching him. OVA 5’s comedy also fell flat, OVA 5 at least had a reversed version of Mumen Rider’s last stand that was pretty funny. Personally I would not just say OVA 6 is a bad episode but maybe even the worst addition to the One Punch Man property and that includes the stage play no one talks about.
Oh, sure, the animation was very stiff. It was annoying, but my main gripe was the story and characters… they added no value to the series as a whole. Well… except Pri Pri being shown to be a sexual predator, but we already knew that.
The premise of these OVAs weren’t bad, but the execution of the dialogue and events was downright horrible. The animation merely was the salt on the wound.
JC staff are the worst animation studio out there, the ova looks like a fan-made animation, very unprofessional and lazy, at this point I hate anything that is related to JC staff.
