Fire Force Season 2 Ep 1 A Fire Soldier Fight is out and we will be breaking it down. As this is a breakdown there will be spoilers. We catch up with Shinra on his day off as he spends it with the girls. Basically Maki, Tamakis and Eris wanted to go shopping and asked Shinra if he wanted to come. It then turned into looking for clothes for the lieutenant as they see him wearing another outrages hat. So off they go to look for some clothes for the member of the team who has no fashion sense at all.
During this time we are reminded of how the last season ended with Shinra not only looking to save his brother but see how he can change his mom back from an infernal. Something the ladies are all for. Well in there own away as Tamaki is basically being her bratty self. This all feels like the 1st episode as we have a normal day in a world where human combustion is your biggest fear. Keep in mind I said the first episode which means we will have an infernal to deal with.
Maki takes charge and sends Shinra to scout ahead where he sees one big infernal. The big guy is too much so luckily for our little devil the rest of the team shows up. Unlucky for him the one who saves him is Arthur. (New season same rivalry issues.) But this serves as a reintroduction to the team more less as we see the strengths in this situation. From the powers such as Maki control as well and Arthur sword to Tactics such as there captain using tech as well as his insane strength to Vulcan ant Licht seeing where the weaknesses of this infernal are. A nice way to get reacquainted with the 8th as they put this one to rest.
Now this lead into the opening which I will put here as it is a nice one.
But that basically covers the action for the anime as the rest is pure comedy gold. I do mean comedy gold as we have the lieutenant begin yelled at for wearing what the girls picked out. Mind you this was a test to see if he would wear something so ridiculous but at the same time if he has no fashion sense and you know it why even attempted something remotely like this? Also why did wear the whole outfit?
(I can’t find the image but it is crazy to think that the character would think it is okay.) Now to Hinawa when Obi asked him who picked it out for him he says he picked it himself. Granted I can’t tell if he did that as way to protect them or basically he though they gave him a kind gift and he should do so. The issue is what follows is the same that happens when your siblings pull a prank and your parents know they did to you even if you don’t say anything. As such Obi calls Shinra, Maki, Eris and Tamaki to punish accordingly. The comedy here as Shinra thinks about taking the blame the girls beat him to it by throwing him under the bus. Now what makes this whole thing comical to me is Shinra thinking to himself Mom I learned woman are scary. I find it funny as remember this guy has meet Hibana and only know seems to understand this.
The rest of the episode goes to the Fire Force Calendar. Basically all the companies show off the bodies for calendar that is all male. A Sad thing for Shinra who was wondering about seeing Hibana in it. A thought that Eris basically takes care of by telling him it is all male but you can’t blame the guy for thinking it. Also I don’t know if this means Shinra is into but we will see down the road.
But for now it is all about the 8th getting the number 1 spot which was held by the 1st. Thinking that with Rekka gone they can take it. So the group goes all in while Konkorur tries to get another picture of Shimon. Odd that he waits for this moment to take up with him knowing full well it had to be him. Either way the group gets there photo in and lord and behold company 8 comes in dead last.
Now this comedy was just a kind way to bring us back into the swing of things. A normal day without worrying what mayhems would ensue after words. Now understand that all ends next episode as Shinra will be visiting the 4th so we will see how that goes. Until then.
