We will now look at The King Of Fighters A New Beginning ch 29.2 We will be going the raw version since it hasn’t been translated yet. But if you want to avoid that then please stop now and go check it out online or wait till it is officially translated by seven seas.
Here we see Original Zero taking on Maxima, Leona, Ralf and Angel. This is the same story as with the other fights as for all four attacking they are only getting in one good attack. Things don’t look better when Zero brings in the cat. I have to admit I do like how they did this as we see the cat doesn’t just appear but attacks through portals.
You see this is from Original Zero being a boss in 2001 where he took full control of the striker system in place. So as a boss he can call on 3 things. 2 people in the form of Ron and Krizlaid and his cat. And it appears he brought his pet lion Glugan with him.
The interesting part is that we see to have Xanidu calling out where Glugan will attack from. He is basically acting as comedy here even to point where we see him notify Zero of Maxima and Angel attack.
Zero dark self seems to have had enough and sends Glugan after Xanidu only to have the spirit of Ukio appear. With him cutting down the lion we then see other souls from Samurai Shodown appearing to even the odds against the dark forces that escaped from Verse.
We then catch up to Fatal Fury Team and South Town team as Terry and the others try to get to Geese. We then see Hein and Billy provide perfect cover with Billy long reach combined with Hein control of gravity. For Fatal Fury fans this is perfect since Billy served as a mid boss to Geese anyway. Hein would probably fit the same build if this was a FF game.
Now we see that when Hein does his ultimate move it effects everyone allowing Geese to actually complete his transformation. You see it seems Kodansha and SNK have made Nightmare Geese into story cannon instead of just an extra skin of the king of South Town.
Now to be clear Nightmare Geese is originally from Fatal Fury but you have understand it isn’t really Geese in a sense. It is the nightmare people have of him haunting south town. In other words it is his ghost or perception of him from them. Hence why he is a nightmare.
But by allowing him to achieve this form this way SNK has tied this form to a power with Verse. We don’t know exactly what as we don’t everything about Verse yet. But this is still a cool development. Let me know your thoughts as we await to see what the next chapter will bring.
