When it comes to The King of Fighters XV fans know nothing about it except for the new logo which was confirmed with the teaser last year. But with the new beginning manga being some what cannon fans are using it to se if it is a blue print to the what we might see in KOF XV. A prelude to what might be coming.
Now the manga is somewhat cannon as it isn’t exactly how the game story goes. We know this as Igniz doesn’t really appear nor to does these other shadow characters. But they are hinted at in Verse ending quotes. But as Nabil points out from NeoGeo Now and his interview with Ono of SNK it is somewhat cannon. Which means that despite the striker system if we do see Zero come back his lion Glugan will not only be with him in his winning and losing poses but as part of his gameplay.
The striker system was implemented during the Nest arc between 99-2002. Original Zero who served as a mid boss for 2001 had 3 strikers in which Gluang was one of them. The striker system was forgotten as we went into tag system used for Ash saga which was KOF 2002-XIII.
You may think I am grasping at straws but keep in mind we are seeing this in 2 places. We see it here and also in KOF All Stars in both his normal form and pretty form. With that being the case it may be hinted by SNK that Glunang will be by Zero side in and out of combat in some case as his theme similar to other SNK characters.
Now again this is if Zero is in the game as at this moment other than the teams who are in there every year such as team Japan, Ikari and so on we have no idea who is in. But with that being the case we might see him if not in the releasing cast as DLC down the road. Who knows as we await for news on the game. Until then.
