The God Of High School Ep 4 Marriage/Bonds Breakdown

Now this is all about Mira this episode as we have someone catching her in the middle of the street and propose to her to marry her. Something that catches everyone off guard as we have a grown man asking for a teenager hand in marriage. So everyone is already think it is shady.

The man in question is a big shot. Seongjijn is a business man/ martial artist who is famous. We get this much from his Mira little cousin. A little cousin who is through the rough for this. Mira on the others hand just wants things to be a little ceremony. But it is the flash back as they talked in the dojo that should catch everyone eye.

He talks about promoting her style that he will elevate and this hits Mira as this is what she wants in someone. She wants who ever she marries to be the able to carry on the style with her. After all it is why she joined the tournament to save her family sword style. After all she is at the moment the only practitioner.

Well the only good one since her father died. Her uncle been raising her since she was a child but he is not his brother and thus people didn’t see much in learning from someone like him as he didn’t seem very strong.

But even he has questions about this marriage. Seongjin basically tells him not to worry as he promises to make her happy. Now hearing this might got to him as for the most part he was trying to do that the best way he can. Seongjin might be the answer to that for him.

At this moment it seems everyone is on board. Well everyone except for Jin who sees Mira as giving up her dreams by dropping out of the tournament for the marriage. This didn’t sit well with Jin who decides to take up Mira at her home. (Something he gets from the the tournament HQ by simple asking them which is a little troubling as to why did they give him that information with no issues but back to the topic at hand. )

Now Jin basically is asking Mira about her dream about saving her family style. Pay attention here as we have 2 different points of view here basically. Jin is coming the fact she he thought it was up to Mira to save her style and that she will do that through GOH and by marring Seongjin she is giving up on that dream. To Mira she sees the marriage as doing just that and thus it is the right thing to do. But notice when Jin ask about does she love Mira simple says that is none of his business.

Now of course Jin calls Han to try and get him to help but one he is doing a delivery and 2 they are not family and thus have no say in this. Remember these people all met the first episode so they have known each other for about 3 days or so. Not long and especially not long enough to have a say in Mira life.

So with that that wedding is going on as Mira is getting ready to walk down the isle. But as she sits there we see Mira uncle having second thoughts. Basically he though it would make her happy that she was seeing this as an adult but he see what many of is seeing is that Mira isn’t think of her happiness and ask Seongjin to stop the wedding only to see the real side of him and what has been planning. He wants her sword and her to do with for this dark cult. I am only saying that as there names have not been officially revealed.

The problem is that both her uncle and cousin cannot get through to her. She is determined to do this for herself no matter what they say. luckily for them Jin is here. Now luckily for us Han soon joins him but this this allows them to keep deal with the supposed husband and Mira as Han deals with Seongjin while Jin tries to talk to Mira.

Now this is here were we see the flaw in Mira character. Basically she is doing this not to make herself happy but for her family sword style and it is something she has been fighting with. Every time she thinks of hanging out with the girls to have fun for the style. Now her uncle has again been trying to tell it is alright to have a normal life from time to time but Mira believes she has to sacrifice herself. Jin ask the right question as to when does that end. When is it important for you to be happy for yourself?

Finally understanding that Mira gets what everyone is trying to make her sees and wants to break  off the marriage with Seongjin only for him to try and stop her. He does so using the same type of power Jin faces from one of the judges. However unlike that fight Mira can take this guy on no problem and since we know she can knock him out and stop it she does just that with ease.

The sword that is supposed to be a holy sword that only she can use but that is only showing how bad this guy is this group of which we have yet to get a name for. But that will come another time. For now though we shift gears a bit.

We have seen Han be powerful but honor man as he fights to save his friend buy using the tech of the tournament. The only issue is that time is running out and we see things go dark as he not only loses his temper but also shows no mercy to Mira.

In the ring now only does he beat but he does hitting her wound from her fight with Seongjin. As we see are gentle giant go dark remember this wasn’t going to be easy one way or another but to see him go this far is a twist that only makes wonder what will happen next.
