Capcom is one of the companies that will be at the Japan Fighting Game Publisher Roundtable. Ono will be there and we know the topic will be fighting games. But what exactly will have to show is something I would like to talk about in this piece.
Now when we first heard of this event and Ono being the guy from Capcom to be at the event we immediately thought this is where we hear more about the Street Fighter V Champion Edition DLC Characters that we have been waiting. Only issue is that news is set to be revealed August 6 not August 1st. So then what will be shown here becomes the big question.
Now it could be some stuff on SFV as they could have enough content for 2 shows. After all we don’t know how much time each company will get to talk about what is coming. But let say that is not the case and that Ono has something else for us. Keep in mind Ono isn’t just behind the return of SF as he is trying to bring many properties back to life at Capcom.
So then lets talk as to what this might be and one thought is maybe Darkstalkers. Ono has mentioned this a few times as a title he would like to bring back. Fans have been asking for it for awhile so it could be something to announce here.
But lets say that isn’t it. Then what else would do? How about Power Stone. We have seen this game ported to almost every system. So it should be no surprise that demand is high. Basically a precursor to Super Smash Bros. we have 4 fighters in a 3d arena face off. They get weapons and power ups so you can see why many say it was Smash before smash. If it is announced many fans would be happy to see it and given smash success we know it can work.
Now we will talk about 1 game everyone knows is coming at some point but the question is will this be the time it is announced. Street Fighter VI is only a matter of time. But given how the world has been set back in all forms that time is hard to see. Many know it is only a matter of time as they believe SFV has run its life cycle. Now I am only talking about announcement with a maybe a teaser nothing more.
Lately we will go for the longest shot in the fact of it being Marvel Vs Capcom 4. MVCI didn’t do that well due to graphics. But gameplay wise fans loved as well as its online was the best Capcom has done. Given that Marvel has the x men back you can understand how many would say why not try it again. Only this time without worrying about having red tap. Now for many it might be too soon and both companies might be too sore. Thus why it is out of all of these titles the longest shot. Yet it would be wrong not to mention it since we are talking about possibilities.
Now lastly this brings us to the last bit which is maybe we can get a Capcom all versus game with just there character. They would have done it earlier but went with SF EX instead. So is now the time? Maybe as Capcom does have enough characters and franchises to do it and to be honest the characters did sound cool. So cool they mentioned in Capcom character bio for SFV. So maybe Ono got the big to say yes to there an in company versus rather than Marvel. One never knows.
Now again this is all theory as to what will happen. Basic guess work as we await to see what happens Friday. As to actually happens we need to see as Capcom has many titles to pull from and bring back or continue.
