Fire Force Season 2 Ep 5 A Secret Plan is out and we will be breaking it down. Since this is a breakdown there will be spoilers. If you do not want to be spoiled please go check out Funimation or Crunchyroll for the latest episode. AGAIN SPOILERS AHEAD.
Okay so a quick recap. The Fire Force and Evangelist are fighting over the 5th pillar Inca who is a thrill seeker. This fight has put Haneuma against Arthur, Shinra vs Charon and the rest of the fire force there against a demonic level infernal.
Now Shinra seeing Charon explosive power thinks he has come up with a plan to take him out using Obi Rock and Roll symbol. He just now needs to understand how to use it in combat. As Shinra takes this in he begins to understand he might have misjudged Charon power.
As Karim freezes the demon infernal Hinawa and Karim touch on there ability as 2nd generation to manipulate heat and thus use 3rd generation abilities against them. This highlights what Shinra is facing when dealing with Charon as he us able to take kinetic energy and use it how ever he wants. From making the ground explode when he walks to an explosive clap.
This gives us an idea of what he can do. The only issue is that it doesn’t help Shinra. Shinra cannot stand toe to toe with Charon in terms of strength so he needs his flame to able to take him on. But whether it be raw fire or just energy from being attack Charon can use both with attack Shinra with. And even if Shinra doesn’t attack the people Charon brought with him will beat him up to attack him so has power to attack with.
Shinra then must attack and is planning to do so with Obi Rocking Roll sign to power him the same way Shinmon hand signs did for the rabbid kick. The only thing is he doesn’t know how to actually use it in combat.
Remember Shinra only used it once and notice the explosive effect it had. As to using it in battle that is another thing in it self. And it is something he will have to figure out against Charon.
Luckily we get a flash back here to give us and Shinra a little meaning and motivation to use it more. Remember Shinra sees himself as a hero so using a devil sign is not his style even though he is using it isn’t motivating him or inspiring him. (Again i guess Shinra never heard of the anti hero but I degrease.)
But with the flash back Shinra is now ready to attack. But as he is about to use it notice how we go to Inca to see what she is seeing. Remember she sense all forms of heat so for her to see Shinra oncoming attack as this powerful roaring flame means something. Now to actually see it in action is something else as well.
Now this does a number on Charon as due to the timing he couldn’t absorb it as he was attacking at the same time. The only issue is despite it doing some serious damage Charon is far from out and that also goes for the demonic infernal as he breaks free from Karim ice.
Remember we only have had 2 demonic infernals and they have only been defeated by the 7th. Not only that but it was successful down by Shinmon who had to go all out in order to do so. Neither of those 2 are here meaning when it comes to one on one we have no way to stop the infernal.
Now Litch does ask Obi why didn’t you call the 7th and it seems they never picked up. Now Karim asked about freezing him again which gives Litch the inspiration he needed to come up with a plan.
Basically they will use the fire of the town to attack the demon using a firestorm. Karim will then be used to put the fire out before causes major damage.
Hinawa basically bring the demon to the firestorm but has no way to get him in there. Luckily Obi decided to use the match box with Vulcan modifying it with a water cannon. The only issue is they seem to have not gone over the controls so Obi has no idea how to use and just goes through the buttons until he right ones.
Now eventually we see there is more to this. Using Hinawa ability combined with the firestorm they take out the demon by using a mortor to him while in the air to keep the damage low. Karim then freezes it but that is only one threat down.
Shinra now has to deal with Charon and put him down for good this time. Yes he does have a way to beat him but we need to see what this new attack toll takes on his body as he may only have one more shot. We will have to see in the next episode.
