D Gray Man Ch 237 Saying Goodbye To A. W. Red And Mana is out and we will be breaking it down. Since this is a breakdown there will be spoilers. If you not want to be spoiled please check out the the chapter only and please remember to support the official release. AGAIN SPOILERS AHEAD.
Okay a quick recap. In the last chapter we learned that through Mana learning about his dog death that he knows that he is or has an understanding that he is the earl. This comes as he is about to feel sadness or grief but stops himself from doing so and thus stops a transformation from taking place.
He then finds Allen and begins to keep him around more. But due to Allen being around him more Cross now sees Allen as someone who might have to be removed. It isn’t something he wants to do but it is something he will have do in order to get to the heart or get to the Earl to end this war. Keep in mind this arc is generally showing Cross, the Noah family and the living innocents are waiting for Mana become the Earl. They are waiting for him to transform so they can begin the actual war.
But first Cross as to get through Allen or get him out of the way. In order to change that Cross decides to approach to basically to scare him off. But when he meets Allen Cross asked by his name who he is Allen denies this but it is interesting how Cross knows this. Remember through out this we learn that Cross out of the generals seems to have more information on the Noah and Earl then the rest of the black church.
Still he tells Allen to stay away from Mana. Mana hear Allen mentions his name and Allen explains that someone who is dressed like priest but isn’t just told him to stay away. Mana takes this a Nea and goes after him with Allen in pursuit. As they run they go past the living innocence’s who is watching Mana with the caption the threat is creeping near.
Now we know Mana killed Nea and absorbed him long ago in fact 35 years. But remember he is denying this. Mana memories are no messed up even now. So the fact that he is still looking for Nea makes sense. But it seems we might be getting to the point where we see when Mana becomes the Earl. At least that is what this Arc is supposed to help explain. Will it be in the next chapter things start to unfold we need to see. Until then.
