Dragon Ball Super Ch 63 Merus Resolve is out and now we will break it down. Since this is a breakdown there will spoilers. Since there will be spoilers if you do not want to be spoiled then please stop now and go check out the chapter online over at Viz Media. AGAIN SPOILERS AHEAD.
Now in this chapter we have Merus stepping and we will see 2 things out of this and that is Merus doing his best to hold off Moro without using his angle powers. As such he is holding off Moro with nothing more than a staff showing skills that Jaco has never seen from him before. At the same time Moro is noticing more and more that this person in front of him is not normal.
The thing is though Merus is just buying time for Dende who thanks to Beerus and Whis has Goku and the others and has begun to heal them. The thing is though he notices that Merus isn’t there and Dende tells him he is fighting. Something that he is not alloed to do for if he does he will vanish. Goku heads over saying he will fight.
The thing is his level of Ultra Instinct isn’t enough to stop Moro. But it can be Merus notices that Goku needs a push. As he says this he begins to seal away Moro ability to absorb abilities hit the gems on his hands and head. As he does so Merus begins to use his angle power. We notice as he begins to fad away. It then becomes revealed that he is evening the odds against Moro as a sacrificial act.
Now this is happen Beerus and Whis are watching with Beerus now realizing that Whis knew about this and would only act if Beerus told him. The truth is though is that he knew it would be to late so he was probably okay with what his little brother last act would be. An act that for many is call back in 2 ways to when DBZ delt with Super Saiyan transformation.
One one hand you have Merus acting like android 16 to Gohan coaching Goku as to what he needs to do with his power to push himself. The thing is it is also similar to how Goku went Super Saiyan as we have Goku trembling with rage as we await to see the power boast that comes form it.
But with that being said it will also be interesting to see how the series deals with this new level of power. Until then.
