Hello everyone. This is a new fan fiction based on the Shadow Hearts franchise. Since this is fan fiction understand I do not own the writes to the series or any of its characters. Now with that said this takes place after from the new world and it has been a few years. Johnny detective agency has a nice reputation now and many go to him to solve a great deal of cases from the cat in the tree to cheating spouses and even some like this one.
It is a smoking 95 degrees in the big apple as Keith and Lucia visit Johnny agency.
Radio: it is 95 degrees folks with humidity making it feel 102. So stay cool out there everyone with nice cool drink. Like one from our sponsor.
Johnny: IF IT FEELS LIKE A 102 THEN IT IS 102. SAY IT SAY.
Lucia: Are we really going to ask him to help us.
Keith: We don’t really have a choice.
Lucia: If you say so.
After stopping him from arguing with the radio how hot it really was they got him to listen to there story.
Johnny: So you want me to look for your friends who had dinner with you last night because they didn’t answer the phone. A little jump aren’t Keith?
Keith: I told them to call me when they got back to make sure I knew they were safe. We even went to there building to check on them and it was clean as though it wasn’t even lived in.
Johnny: Like they were never there?”
Lucia :We were going to take them to Roger as they said they were running from something. We asked them but they were to scared so we figure we would ask them later.
Keith: We can’t go to copes given the type of people we are talking about. And NY is too big for us to look for them on our own.
Johnny: Okay I will help you.
Johnny agreed knowing that it will be hard to find them. All the same they did get some clues. Shania took one rout Johnny and the other took one. Granted this involved following a glowing pair of dogs but to the group beggars can’t be choosers. The clue lead them back to the apartment building the Keith friends were staying at only to see a cellar door that wasn’t there according to Keith and Lucia.
Once they opened the cellar they found one of Keith friends dead. Keith can only stand there with regret.
Keith: If only we found them SOONER!!
Lucie: We did all we can.
Keith: IT WASN’T ENOUGH. Sorry it is just.
Lucia: I know.
Johnny: This blood is still wet. Which means the person who did this isn’t too far.
With that mind they went down the tunnel and ran into Shania which also linked to the other location. As they went they ran into a man standing next to Keith friends which one was injured.
Keith: What are you doing?
Man: I should you the same thing.
Johnny: Get away from them now.
Man: Why would I do that when i was the one to invite them here in the first place. I paid for the transportation and everything. But when I tell them why they try to run.
Shania: You brought them here to kill them.
Man: NO. I brought them here to repay there debt. My family gave them everything and they thought they can have it all and not pay it back. THAT WILL NOT DUE.
Johnny: I will say it one more time. Put down the gun and step away from them.
Keith then summoned his sword.
Keith: Or we will make you.
Man: I would like to see you try.
Once he said this the man transformed into a huge creature on top of a 2 headed dog. The large dog was at his command as he controlled it with one hand while holding a scythe with the other.
The group responded by preparing themselves and taking on the demonic creature. The fight didn’t last long. Once defeated the man can only try to crawl away as we returned to human form.
Man: They ow us. They ow me EVEYTHING. The homes they had back in the old country and the life they lived are thanks to my family. ALL I DID WAS GET WHAT I WAS OWED.
Keith: A return for kindness isn’t servitude. No matter how great.
Man: And what is that supposed to mean?
Keith: One is supposed to be kind to others by human nature.
Man: What are you talking about nature is survival. Kindness as you put is weakens.
The man stopped crawling ready to argue with Keith but as he did so he realized that Keith still had his sword at the ready. With this realization he then understood that Keith wasn’t trying to argue with him. Keith was basically telling him his last words.
With the man dead Keith friends began to fill them in.
Joel: A family ties go way back in the old country. Back then his family gave ours land so long as we farmed for him. The issue is his family began to ask more and more. So we began to look for a new home else where. I guess he over heard us an offered us one here in America.
Shania: And then you came over he told you what he was really planning.
Johnny: But why kill you here. I mean he had better chance of getting away with it back home where he probably make it disappear.
Lisa: The spell he needed us for ingredients was founded here.
Johnny: Ingredients?
Lisa: The place where door open to the red and some other things I can’t remember.
Johnny and Shania then understood. Basically this person Mr. Kets was trying to create something using Malice from the other world.
Johnny: Forget it. It is best to think of this as it is. Nightmare you are now done with.
Keith: We will be leaving then and thanks again.
The group then left leaving Johnny and Shania alone.
Johnny: Malice again
Shania: We might not be done with it after all.
Johnny: We will have to look into it which means we will have ask around.
Shania sighs as she knows what this means.
Shania: Fine but this time I get Roger friend and you talk to that person Lenny was talking about.
Johnny: Don’t tell me you that Lenny made you talk to Veronica (Even though i told him not to).
Shania: What do you think Tinker bell.
Johnny : Oh come on.
How that adventure goes is something we learn at another time.
