Fire Force Season 2 Ep 12 Shadow Cast By Divine Light is out and we will be breaking it down. Since this is a breakdown there will be spoilers. Okay so this episode is crazy, a little dark but still good. To recap we have Joker and Shinmon attacking the temple of Sol to get at the truth that Shinra and the other learned in China. What they learned is the temple might be hiding things to but they cannot say anything for 3 years. As such Joker and Shinmon are here to see what they can get with Shinmon being taken down.
The thing is this is only temproary and we see the guy used a blow dart on him which the effects didn’t last long. As to why the effects wore off we don’t know as they were never explained. But the duo soon take care of the other and head down as we see the temple goers went into the nether to hid from them which shocks Shinmon but not Joker.
The thing is though Shinmon wants to know how Joker knows this. It is true he agreed to come with him to get at the truth but do not forget he doesn’t trust Joker. He said in the last episode I came to keep an eye on you and with Joker know this information that the church is hiding something and where they go to get away from a threat you can see why he is asking. Joker plays this off at first but remember this is Shinmon we are talking about and he is the type to make jokes.
We then learn that Joker was part of the temple to a degree. Not like the ones they have been fighting as he explains he did get the same hair cut. What part is soon revealed as that very group soon attacks them. Joker then revealed he used to be go by the number 52 of the Holy Sol’s Shadow and with Shinmon holding off the others we see how Joker was treated and it was messed up doesn’t really give it justice.
Basically the group is an assassin group for the church who server no other purpose. As such even though Joker was there most skilled the captain took great interest in him as he kept showing individualism. As such the commander went out of his way to make Joker life a living hell until he got the message. This went from whipping him to defiling him (I told you this was dark).
But he does get away from them at the same time Shinra family is attacked by the evangelist. Now Joker did find a good group of people to take him but the group found him and instead of facing him killed the whole family. So to say Joker has an axe to grind is a bit of an understatement.
Now we know that Joker is no light wight to fighting as he has held his own against Sho as well as given Shinra a good fight. With that said he has a problem taking on the commander due to his sword. That is until he cheats as his cigarette smoke causes people to hallucinate. So as his commander is on a trip Joker takes him out as Shinmon takes out the last of the shadows.
Now that isn’t the biggest surprise as with all of them down for the count we see Burns come forward to deal with both Shinmon and Joker. How will this go down we don’t know. We will have to see in the next episode.
