Guilty Gear Strive live stream brought us Giovanna who many fans are still trying to get over. But that is not only news that came out of the event and I would like to go over it. We will begin with the big topic which is Giovanna.
I have said Giovanna is a rush down character with many stating that she reminds them of an SNK/ The King Of Fighter like character mainly due to her movement and rush down capability. That is not all though as we have seen from the trailer above that it seems she turns green. As to what this will offer it is unclear. I will post Max video for this as it shows this point when high lights frame by frame the trailer to see any detail.
We then got a teas from Anji which we will have to talk about. Anji was last seen in Xrd talking to Baiken but also having talking to That Man as he had gained knowledge from Asuka. With Asuka in custody and awaiting his fight with Sol we must ask what role the man who want to know every thing will play in this story. Also since Anji is here you know Baiken will be somewhere but in what in form? We will have to see. Then we have the story which was teased in the release date trailer.
The trailer has Sol and Ky talking as some woman visits the pope/ universe will who is seen in prisoned. No surprise given the events in revelator ending but the fact we are still seeing means she will have role to play in this story especially given that the story is now focusing on humanity and its desires. We get this as Sol talks about a saying that goes humanity can have peace if they threw away there desires but who would live in a world like that? For fans this sound like Sol is talking about the world I-no was talking about in Xrd and that she was fighting prevent. Now we also see a bit of Dragon Install here.
It is a quick second in story mode. Meaning that we don’t know what it will look like or what Sol will be able to do in this mode. Many fans have been asking about as this is Sol trade mark move to me and thus we have been wondering what will he get from it this time around. In Xrd he got a dive kick along with super charged version of the tyrant rave ver b. We don’t know yet but we hope it isn’t just in story but in game and we can’t wait to see it.
This bring us to the exbition matches. This has Nago, Faust, Leo ,Ramlethal And Milla on display as we have yet to see what they can do fully along with May and Ky. Ramlethal swords are given a few more moves and re animations. One move is an explosive sword that makes for a nice pressure as well as a new look for her beam super. Millia has a move where she can leave a rose and spin well at the opponent. Leo still having counter gets finishers with other moves making the pressure he can push onto the opponent maddening. Faust is Faust with his bad of tricks. We saw some more with the propties not very clear. With that said he does get a new supper where he runs over you with a wheelchair. This has us turning to Nago who is being compared to Hakumen from Blazblue as he has a blood meter which the move you can do or its effect id dictated by this bar and how full it is. This is different from the tension gauge. You can see the matches below.
We are far from done here as Arc also is releasing the story mode for Xrd free on YouTube. So for anyone trying to figure out where is all of this going you can see it on YouTube with the main Arc page. They will also have a web comic as well which when we learn more I will post. Now this brings us to modes as we will have arcade story mode and boost. Boost is interesting as it will you to play with a team of 2 it seems simmilar to Isuka. We are assuming 2 as we only see Ky and Sol fighting Nago. I hope if that is the case I hope that is not the only thing coming from Isuka as I would love install Ky to come back.
There is also a special option for preorder where we can have Sol and Ky swap colors. This swap also applies to there effects as well. Which bring us to the end as we await for next year and more news to go along with the next character trailer which will be Anji in January as we closer to that April release date.
