We have talked about about Guilty Gear Strive section in the latest section of Famitsu already and how it says the characters have more special moves that we have yet to see. These moves have many thinking that once again we will not get the ex/gold versions that fans have been asking for since the series resurrections with Xrd Sign. I would like to talk about that and how this sliver of information can mean a number of things.
First lets talk about what the article covers. Upon many things the article mentions that the characters that we have seen still have new special moves to show us. This goes with some fans who wondering if the move list we have been seeing for the characters so far is it. this shows them it is not.
But with this news we have people wondering if the possibility of ex versions of the characters. These version changed thing up either in big ways such as with Sol which his ex version gave him moves that were more similar to Ky and vice versa. To give you an idea of what that looks like you see a few videos below.
Now with an idea of that we should talk about why this is a thing. The idea of more specials for some reason reminds people of SFV and the v system. More importantly the v trigger which enhance the character play style by giving them a move or changing up the style completely. Think of Ryu and Ken v trigger as compared to Vega and R Mika.
But with that said we do not know if that is the case. I am saying that as we are not told in this article everything about the moves. Continuing to us Ky as an example the same the article we did we only see the idea of his gear powers are coming into play for some of his specials. In this case it is ride the lightning with no idea how it will be effect. The small passage doesn’t at any time touch on if these moves for ky will be access though a low health or through an in stall of sorts similar to how some of the strongest characters in GG have.
I say this as there is a good chance that what this article is giving a taste of the ex versions themselves. Or the fact that it might still be done later down the road. Now I say this only because of the mere fact that along with fans wishes Daisuke said that he would not only revive character and bring them all in sooner or later but that we would see things return.
Again though it is not clear if that is the case here. I bring up this point as the article states (at least in translation) that these moves were recently added. Meaning that since the developers got more time they will put to use by adding more to the characters and thus expanding on them more then they intended to. It might sound silly as games like this are planned extensively and we didn’t know when it was going to come out before. Yet we have had 2 games now and Ky’s eye only played part story wise showing that he has gotten some gear cells in him supposedly from Dizzy. So for that to be announced now sounds on one hand as though team red were listening to fans and decided to bring it into gameplay. But those are my thoughts let me know yours as we await for more news on GGS/.
