Today we learned that one of the characters that will be coming in Samurai Shodown season 3 will be from The Last Blade series. The Last Blade is an SNK fighting game that takes place during the 19th century and only has had 2 entries and fans have been asking for it back.
But with no signs of it coming back fans have been asking for the characters to face off in some way with Samurai Shodown. With both games focusing on weapon carrying martial artist you can see why. The issue is there is a 100 years separation between the 2 games. So unlike Art Of Fighting and Fatal Fury which has characters crossing a few times sine they both take place in South Town this would be a little bit more difficult.
That is the lore version as to why not officially we don’t know. At least to my knowledge anyway. Now we do have 1 character coming to Samurai Shodown and with that announcement fans have been putting in there hopes and guesses. Guesses as there are a lot of character believe it or not the could work for this.
The best guess if you are going cross over logic in Kade. Kade is the main character aka poster boy for series there for he should be the best choice. On the other hand if people are hoping for that lore there are people who are immortal. From a soul who got out of the underworld with Setsuna to Kagamie and Koryu who are the guardians of the gates. We have a few choices.
Now there is something else to this. With this announcement of a new character for Samurai Shodown from Last Blade and the new webtoon comic fans are wondering are these signs that Last Blade will be the next game to be revived. Keep in mind many that SNK did say they will revived there games but many fans thought the next game after KOFXV would be a Fatal Fury or Art Of fighting. No one thought it would The Last Blade.
Again this is a thought as we have not heard anything official. Yet giving the focus that The Last Blade is getting you can see why that might be what is happening and a Last Blade 3 maybe a thing. We will have to see as we await to see which SNK game comes next but hopefully I have answered your question as to why SNK fans are hyped for this news. But let me know what you think.
