Fire Force Season 2 Ep 22 Plot For Extinction is out and we will be breaking it down. We catch up with fir force as Shinra and Arthur fight Giovani. The fight looks like a stand off until the mad doctor explains what is going to happen and that they are planning to destroy the nether. As he does he mentions Sho. Which is not a good idea in front of Shinra as he uses his adolla link to achieve his grace giving him light speed movement and as such the mad doctor cannot keep up. Keep in mind his counter for this was to us his bug modifications to allow him to predict Shinra movements through pheromones’. Now he doesn’t have time for that. We also Sho is just sitting there thanks Hanima with Arrow watching since Hanima is still using her abilities to control him.
The issue is even if Arthur and Shinra beat Giovani the empire will still go as it sits on top of the Nether. Remember the Nether is just the Japanese Sub way system and if that goes the support for the empire goes with it. Something Licht tries to explain to the companies that formation is similar to demolition set up. But since no one wants the empire to go they need to figure out how to stop this. The one issue is how? The best choice is to redirect the blast. But the one problem is there is no one among them who can do that other Maki so she appears. And then proceeds to argue with her brother.
It is nice to have here for the plot but also as it is nice to have answer what she wants with Hinawa arguing why she was a good fit for the 8th and Takagi saying tricked by them felt wrong as it is her choice and she made. Now Takagi can be seen as the scared brother trying to keep his sister safe but the argument falls short as his best argument as to why she can’t stay here is because she is a girl. 1 there mother is touch military who is still a lady so that argument to me is mute. 2 If they do not stop this the whole empire will go so why are trying to stop here.
Now with her brother help she does pull it off and gives Hinawa a piece of her mind. Which only leaves Giovani and Arthur takes care of that while he is caught up with himself over finding anyone can have an adolla link. In a weird way he has achieved ultra instinct. Fighting with out thought with the body moving on it own. Now if only it took out Giovani.
Now again it isn’t important that Arthur took out Giovani. What is important is that he says only those with adolla burst can use adolla link. That is important as we see have to remember that Shinra has had an adolla link with Giovani as well as the 7th lt. So the question do they have adolla burst or is there more to adolla links? That questions isn’t answered in this episode.
What is answered is that Maki is staying with the 8th as she feels it is where she belongs with a new rank of platoon leader. The thing is nothing else has changed. Case in point she throws Arthur on his head for thinking he made fun of her again. Luckily it is Arthur so we know he is alright. Also Hibana is here for some reason it is not said why.
