So I did a post talking about The King Of Fighters XV and how it sounded as though Oda and SNK were aiming to recreate or come close to KOF XIII which to much of the community was one of the best looking games in the series.
Well Yemaster commented on it and said that is not the cause. Yasuyuki Oda was answering the question to which he ask will there be any more KOF games done in the same style of KOF XIII.
“He doesn’t actually say that the image of KOFXV is like KOFXIII,He just answered the interview questions,He started by saying that KOFXV would look great with the new technology, and then answered the next question, indicating that KOFXIII’s style was very popular.”
No this wasn’t just to me as Yemaster actually post a tweet to make sure that message is received. But the message is that SNK knows we liked KOF XIII graphics. Graphics as not everyone like the models as some where hit or miss. But what they will be doing is aiming to make graphics that will put this game on par in a sense. Now that is not quoting her but it is the sense I am getting.
Now to me still we might get a similar look or something the like since Oda does says they are looking into cell shading. Which brings me back to this rumor that the recruitment page for SNK might have had early concept art for KOF XV on it. I am still standing by that as that Raiden art work to me has something to do with KOF XV as either concept or final product. We don’t know.
But I am posting this as Yemaster wants to make sure all SNK/ fighting game fans know what was said as he is the best source. I am saying this as SNK has not posted the full interview translated for everyone yet. Yemaster is the one doing it for us as a fan. As such since he/ she felt the point was missed and wants cleared then I will post to make sure it is clear as to Oda said in he knows KOF XIII art style is popular.
As for KOF XV art style we will learn that in a few months hopefully In January or February with them talking about news coming out with next year. I am excited to see as a fan of the 2d look as that is what the cell shaded stuff they are looking into tells me but let me know what you think.
