Fans are waiting for The King Of Fighters XV itching for what ever news comes up. These same fans are still taking what the interview with Yasuyuki Oda producer of KOF XIV and KOF XV had where he talked about the game by hinting at what SNK aiming for.
Now fans want a story that either resembles Arc System works with paths that fully explore what happens when these characters meet as well as well as a true one. Or they want it in the same style Nether Realm Mortal Kombat XI story one true story mode to explain the full event of the tournament.

There is one thing though we know now we might be getting that. While SNK is considering a story mode of some kind Oda seems to not want to dive to into. He believes that if he puts to much focus on a story mode that players will be coming back for that rather than then the fighting. I argue that will not be true as even though story mode is welcomed as we want to know what exactly happened as cannon in the story. Fans still will remember it is a fighting game. But as you read in the last post I did on this I think it might be more of a production question rather than consumer issue. By that I mean if Oda team focuses on story too much the gameplay might suffer which might be more of an issue that is understandable.

But if that is the case then how will KOF XV go? Can we reach a middle ground and the answer is yes. For fans we just want to see some details of the story be shown in game. For instance how the teams start who they meet as rivals before the boss and ending. This did happen before but it was in KOF 2006 aka maximum impact 2 where you got some of the story of the main event and then why that character was competing. Adding that to the story telling of the official game would be great.
As for the true story mode we are asking you can have it as a special ending when you do enough achievements or as DLC to come at the end of the game. Fans would like to be there day 1 but at the same time we would want DLC characters to have some story as to why they are hear. But those are my thoughts. Let me know what you think about this as we await more the full unveiling of the KOF XV.
