SNK has us pumped for January 7th being the big day that we get to see what The King Of Fighters XV will look like. This will hopefully have not only CG but gameplay. With that in mind who will be shown in this first KOF XV trailer? Well we might have been shown that with the teaser.
The teaser showed us concept art for Kyo, Benimaru and Shun at the same time showed that K and Leona would be in the game. Now Kyo makes sense as he is the main for the entire series and Shun is the main for this current arc. But why Benimaru, Leona and K? I think it might be a signal as to who will be shown in the first gameplay trailer for the game on January 7th. Shun is the new main with Kyo being one for the whole series. Follow that up with how popular Beinmaru, Leona and K are and it makes sense.

SNK will debut the official reveal trailer for fighting game sequel The King of Fighters XV on January 7, 2021, the developer announced.

“Pretty cool, yeah? Of course, we would love to show you scenes from the actual game, but there are some pretty interesting things going on in this teaser,” said producer Yasuyuki Oda in the video. “Ogura-san, can you shed some light on the details?”
Creative director Eisuke Ogura responded, “Sure. First up, we have have Shun’ei. When he first appeared in The King of Fighters XIV, we weren’t sure if he was the protagonist of the story or not… But for The King of Fighters XV, he’s the bona fide protagonist now. We gave him new extra moves, and he looks a lot cooler as well. We can’t wait for you to see him in action! Now that we confirmed he’s the protagonist, you can imagine that this story takes place after The King of Fighters XIV. More will be revealed on this later.”
Ogura continued, “Next up, we have Kyo. Kyo is a new man and now appears with his sleek black jacket. He’ll also be wearing his bandana except for in alternate costumes, and so that’s pretty exciting.
“Finally, we have the electrifying Benimaru. He was a bit flashy in The King of Fighters XIV, but for this game he’s returning to form with his sleeveless shirt. His clothing now has an oriental flair going on, and so his design is more on-point with how fans remember him. We’ll be releasing more content soon, so stay tuned!”
While not discussed by Oda or Ogura, the trailer also briefly teases Leona and K’.
Now there is one downside that I might be wrong. We are looking at concept art and teasing so we have no idea what this could mean as to who shows up. I am a big K fan and I hope he is in it but as well as a few other such as Kyo and Iori hoping just like you all that it looks as good as Oda says. But what do you think? Let me know.
