SNK is working on The King Of Fighters XV but once they are done fans believe the next game to be revived is Fatal Fury. Oda even mentioned it in one of the interviews that they want to make a new one. But in that interview he said Fatal Fury and Not Garou Mark Of the Wolves 2 which would be the next game. This has some thinking if it will get ignored by SNK and i think we should talk about it.
Now if you haven’t heard about mark of the wolves before it is the last cannon Fatal Fury that had South Town with no Geese Howard and were introduced to Rock the son of Geese who has trained under Terry as well as a whole slew of characters that the fans would come to love that would we see countless times after.
They even planned a sequel but that was canceled because you know SNK was going under as Elioth was getting KOF and making KOF 2001. But with SNK looking bring back its library then why would they retcon Mark Of the Wolves? Mark of the wolves was a great game but to me it had one flaw that it shared with Street Fighter 3 of Capcom in all new. Seriously Terry was the only returning character with everyone else next generation or otherwise.
Now in the sequel to Mark Of The Wolves Andy was hinted at coming in Hokutomaru ending but I don’t think that will be enough. So I see SNK retelling mark of the wolves with the next fatal fury or changing things up. Changing it up as they will have to show that Geese and Krauser are not dead. Geese much more as Geese is to Fatal Fury as Bison is to Street Fighter. You can do it but it feels weird. More weird for Fatal Fury as They swap more villains out.
For the next Fatal Fury we might see more of the characters come back and mix in with the Garou Mark Of The Wolves 2 expected cast. So basically you will see these 2 cast mix the same way that SF4 mixed in SF3 cast into SF2 and Alpha. That is a good thing as it means we get more characters for the game and more for us to play with.
Now this is if we are reading this right. Keep in mind Oda worked on Mark of the Wolves (the reason why we got Rock in XIV) So we still might get a Garou Mark Of The Wolves 2. But we will see. Let me know what you think as we await to see what is next.
