So Mahito is now facing Kento and Yuji with the a fueled Yuji wanting to kill him after what he did to Jumpie. The idea is Kento opens him up and Yuji goes in to attack. The issue that is the plan but can they do it as Mahito will not make it that easy for them.
Mahito cannot hurt Yuji too much as they need him to switch with Sukuna but he can’t let him kill him either so he does a little divide and conquer sending transformed humans after Yuji while he tends to Kento with the idea Yuji will have no way of dealing with them since he doesn’t want to kill humans. Thus this leaves Mahito to kill Kento.
The thing what Mahito is banking is Yuji not be able to act and for the most part he doesn’t want to. Kento was trying to have him avoid doing so but he knew that Yuji had to make a decision and he did which allowed him to come back and help Kento deal with Mahito. I will admit I am wondering what he did as we didn’t see it but all the same he came back and thus beating begun.
With the this Mahito was trapped since they were giving him no clear window to make any move. Well he was trapped in the beginning. As the fight went on Mahito discovered domain expansion and used it to take in Kento. This looks like the end as domain expansion means there is no way to avoid his touch. As such Kento looked back at his life as a salary man.
Kento did try to live a normal life but as hard as he tried to ignore the curse would he couldn’t. Also he seemed not to be happy chasing after money to live a happy life. So he came back. But he has no regrets as he looks back knowing that he will die here. The only issue is Yuji wasn’t going to allow that.
Now this happens quickly but the mere fact that Yuji is here means this fight is over as Mahito domain expansion means he is touching Yuji soul. This also means he touching Sukuna soul and that is something he was warned about. And Sukuna only warns someone once. As he aims his sights a Megumi nothing else matters to him or for that matter anyone.
Now this puts Mahito at a disadvantage as he spent a lot of curse energy and he now has very little. So he must retreat. As Yuji shows off a new move we see the enemy get away into the sewers. We then get things settling down as the damage Mahito caused is taken into account.
After the battle we see the teacher talking to the bully saying they will both have to take responsibility for Jumpie pain. This is the thing to as we see them jus accept that with everything that happened that they are satisfied with Jumpei just moving away. considering all that he took credit for that is alot. As for Yuji he is now fixed on taking down Mahito for what he has done. And we will see how that goes January 15th when the anime returns from break.
