Bungou Stray Dogs Beast Ch 9.1, Ch 10 and Ch 11are out and we will be breaking them down. Since this is a breakdown there will be spoilers. If you do not want to be spoiled then stop now and go check out the new chapters online and support the official release. AGAIN SPOILERS AHEAD.
Okay so we will be covering 3 chapters. I normally do 1 chapter at a time but given how 9.1 is and the other 2 it seems fitting to cover them in one shot. So we have Akutagawa waking up in the agency after his fight with Atsushi now with Yasano stamp as she got to work on him. But as he gets dressed he is informed of the man who he is looking for during a meeting of the agency that Ranpo said he should be in on and that it is is Dazi as the man in black.
Keep in mind when he was in port mafia Dazi wore all black. But given that Akutagawa now know where Dazi is he will go after him what ever he takes. The roles in this series might be flipped but make no mistake that this is still the same type of person who we were introduced to who bomb a police station without a care. When he gets a target he goes after them.
Now the other thing is that we are talking about him attacking the port mafia. Doppo puts it best that armies would find storming them to be difficult if not impossible. Now we saw that in action as with season 3 when the 2 where put against one another. The thing is though one of the aspects that made it such a danger was Akutagawa and his ability. So now we see how that very same building reacts to him being the attacker.
This brings us to Ch 10 as we see Akutagawa basically storm through the building as we see people with no ability take him on with guns. To give you idea of how one sided that is Akutagawa has only had issue with Oda using guns on him thanks to his Flawless ability letting him now what will happen next and the other person who had it.
So ya he is basically just tearing the place apart thanks to 2 things being changed here. 1 We see that people who would be hear defending the port mafia with there abilities are not present. I say that as Chuya along would probably bring this to an end quickly.
The other thing is that it seems Dazi is not trying to stop this. Keep in mind we talking to one of the most dangerous strategist of Bungou Stray Dogs. The fact he was made an executive of the port mafia at the age of 15 and that he was removed for a good part of season 3 big plot shows that he is to dangerous to leave on the board.
But with that said we do see a familiar face here as Izumi is here to handle Akutagawa. While yes it works as she was with the port mafia before joining the agency you also have to keep in mind it was through Atsushi that she switched side to begin. So it is right that if he is here so to should she be.
But that alone should be enough to stop Akutagawa so we soon she that Atsushi joins in and he does so to protect Izumi more so then to take on Akutagawa. Now keep in mind that this is Izumi without the Agency leader ability. Meaning she relies on her phone. So if you have her phone you have her ability out of commission. I bring this up as we soon get the fight interrupted by Tanziaki.
Tanizaki explains why he is helping is a because he is one of them now and B that the chief order them to do so. Remember that yes there are the good guys but when Atsushi was kidnapped the only one who was eager to save him was Tanizaki sister who had to ask the chief to convince them all to do it. But that is not the big play here. As the reason why the chief got involved is due to the fact that the girl in the photo Gin is set to be killed.
This is where everything comes in as we learn Dazi set this all in motion with Gin life now on the clock. But if that isn’t enough we have Atsushi finding Akutagawa and Tanizaki through smell. We have yet to see him show that ability in the anime but he does here to which Akutagawa uses Izumi as a hostage. In this moment we see both Akutagawa and Atsushi show the characters we know with Akutagawa doing whatever it take where as Atsushi is almost brought to a stand still by the idea of losing Izumi. So they strike a deal as Dazi is waiting in the top office for the 4th stage. What this means we don’t know as we will have to see.
